I just picked this up for a bedroom. I didn't need anything big or high-end, and this TV seems perfect for casual use. The reviews on Best Buy are decent, and at this price, it's hard to beat

I got this in October to replace my too-big-for-the-space wall mounted 55" bedroom TV. Gave it a week and returned it - While the picture was fine for a comically inexpensive TV, the 4" thickness and infuriating UX were dealbreakers for me.

What didn't you like you about the UX? It's obviously not the best but also not the worst either in my opinion.

Starting with acknowledging that some (if not all) of my issues are personal preference.

For me this was to be a bedroom TV, so things like setting a sleep timer is a factor. Apparently the battle is lost for having a sleep timer button on the remote, but as long as it's easily accessible in the menu, I can deal with it. Unfortunately, this TV requires 15 button presses to get there! I think there's an option to set a sleep timer via voice command, but that function was locked out until registering for a Xumo account, which would be bad enough, but I think it required a credit card number.

Speaking of, it seemed like there were multiple settings which are unavailable before setting up an account - along with some basic functionality, which was the ultimate dealbreaker for me. So while I agree it's not the *worst* UX, it was frustrating enough (along with the unfortunate TV thickness,) for me to decide it's not a good fit for me.

That reminds me of the horrible Xfinity cable box UX and it looks they use the same OS. I'm curious if instead of xumo, an xfinity account is sufficient to setup this TV.

btw, for me, setting up a sleeper timer is always easier with a smart switch, probably because I don't care if the tv is not turned on instantly. Smilie

That's a clever idea, but having pull up an app to set up an outlet's sleep timer feels a bit like swapping out one overcomplexity for another. For reference - My current bedroom TV doesn't have a sleep button on the remote, but I can get to the menu option in the blind with a couple button presses.

I got this in October. I needed a tv that moment, I decided I could no longer wait for a bedroom tv slickdeal, and for less than 140 out the door, this fit the bill

I have an onn streaming box thing I use with it, so can't really comment on the UI. I wish I would have waited, but simply because had I gotten a cheap tcl, I could use the same remote for all my tvs. I think this would be an acceptable bedroom/guest room tv, or for the shitter

Sigh if only the VESA mount was 200x200 I'd have snatched for my office's ceiling computer monitors. Would've been cool/nostalgic to see a Pioneer for my inner millennial child
