The mappable back paddles and short throw triggers are a boon in quick reflex style games (PvP,PvE, etc.). You can program any face button to a paddle so you don't have to move your hand for the most frequently used buttons. It can also store 3 profiles for different types of games that you can switch on the fly with the press of a button.

I use one of my paddles as the L3 button in games where it is used for running because I hate pushing in on the stick (and I figure it probably reduces wear) and I use the short throw triggers for FPS games because it helps keeps my trigger speed consistent when I play longer.

The Elite just feels more premium in the hand. It's largely ergonomics and convenience for me, but I lucked into mine for about $80 when every retailer was bundling them with Series X consoles a few years ago and people were dumping them to recoup money.

Just bought yesterday from $10 more bc thought deals are live 😂. Not even worth calling Amazon for adjustments. Maybe should double up.

Good callout. Going to try one and see if I get a good one too. Can always return if not.

I did this and mine was obviously a returned controller that had to been used for over a year. Dirt and grime everywhere. The grippy stuff on the material was all lifting up. A button didn't work. Controller was drifting.

These Core controllers assume you already have paddles, sticks, and D-pad from another Elite S2 controller. If you need them, the stick/paddle kits run about $25-$30 on Amazon so you'd still be ahead when the alternative is paying the full $179 retail for the full Elite S2 controller.

I want to know as well.. I don't like the clicking noise on xbox series controllers. My elite 1 is nice and soft.
