Microsoft just announced price increases [gameinformer.com] for hardware, and the Elite Series 2 Core controllers went up from $139.99 to $149.99. Despite this, Amazon, Walmart, and Target have them on sale for $95.99.

These controllers have a tendency to fail early, so the 3 year warranty is highly recommended. Since it's under $100, the warranty is cheaper ($13.49 for 3 years from Amazon, $15 for 3 years at Walmart).

These are the core controllers, which are the same as the standard Elite Series 2 controllers except they don't come with all the accessories. You can buy accessories like replacement joysticks or rear triggers separately.

Amazon
Blue - $95.99 [amazon.com] + 2 year warranty for $9.99 or 3 year warranty for $13.49

Walmart
Blue - $95.99 [walmart.com] + 2 year warranty for $12 or 3 year warranty for $15
Red - $95.99 [walmart.com] + 2 year warranty for $12 or 3 year warranty for $15

Target
Blue - $95.99 [target.com] + 2 year warranty for $13 (out of stock for shipping)
Red - $95.99 [target.com] + 2 year warranty for $13

Bought two of these, both developed bumper issues within a year and one also developed stick drift. For this price it's shameful that they don't have Hall effect joysticks and better reliability. The base Xbox controllers are way more reliable, and the $30 priced 8bitdo controllers have Hall effect and are solidly reliable. If you are looking for a premium controller, look at alternatives.

Imagine having the argument "a controller that WILL break is worth buying because the warranty is only 20% of the cost!!!"…
Crazy times we live in.

Imade this mistake. I bought a NEW controller from a verizon deal and about a month out of my return window, i sent it to MS so they can fix my A button that would not register presses. This controller was practically new.

They sent me back a Shitty refurb, The controller was all dirty. I had to wipe it down to remove all the black marks (my controller was the core white). This "new one" now had a over sensitive left analog stick. Never again.

I advise anyone who is considering this deal to avoid these controllers like the plague. These things have had issues for years and Microsoft refuses to address them. Also sucks this is not really designed to use the Xbox Series consoles functionality. No screenshot button. May sound like something dumb, but its a pain to take screenshots going through the menus. I like to capture some screenshots form time to time and the button is awesome.

MS needs to retire this crap controller and release a V3 already. Its a shame because it is so nice.
