I purchased an open box for around $475 when it went on sale a couple of weeks ago. Love the 15.6" OLED 120Hz screen with HDR enabled (disabled by default), which is the primary reason for my purchase. Laptop is fast for native ARM64 applications. It is a great laptop for web browsing and Netflix/media consumption.
Good review of this configuration: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLLhdESJGC0
This has good specs but just remember it uses a snapdragon processor. Not every application would be compatible, so be sure to check your app compatability before purchasing.

On this laptop, the CPU is showing as "Snapdragon 8cx Next Gen" in the system information and in task manager, not "Snapdragon plus". Can you confirm this in your laptop? As I know, Snapdragon 8cx is the previous generation of their laptop processors. Though, my laptop has a sticker for snapdragon plus processor on the keyboard. Also, do you know how to change the color of the keyboard backlight? My default backlight is blue.
I think there was something off with your laptop because mine displayed as "Snapdragon X Plus - X1P42100" in both System info and Task manager. As for the keyboard backlight, you can customize the color through the MyAsus App -> Device Setting -> Exclusives -> Color. I preferred the Yellow color as it popped out more than the blue one.

Did you get an open box? And did the computer register (warranty) properly with ASUS? CPU information via Windows / System / About should display Snapdragon(r) X Plus - X1P42100 - Qualcomm Oryon CPU 3.24

I bought it new from Best Buy via home delivery. There was no tempering with the box either.
But, I have an update. I received an automatic "system UEFI firmware update" today evening. After my laptop finished installing the update and restarted, my laptop started showing "Snapdragon(R) X Plus - X1P42100 - Qualcomm(R) Oryon(TM) CPI 3.24Ghz" as the processor in system information and task manager. I never checked what it shows in the BIOS.
Before this UEFI firmware update, I had already updated my windows to the latest update but the laptop was still showing "Snapdragon 8cx Next Gen". So, my guess is all the other similar laptop also had the same issue but they were updated to the latest firmware before you checked the processor.
It does look weird that Asus's out of the box firmware was recognizing the processor as a previous generation processor. Maybe this lowest tier of snapdragon x plus processor (X1P-42-100) is rebranding or slight modification of the previous generation 8cx processor. Or, if it was just a fault in the UEFI firmware, then we can never be sure about what processor is actually there in a laptop because windows will show whatever processor UEFI firmware will identify, whether it is right or wrong. .. just a thought. Probably running and comparing benchmark scores could indicate what processor a laptop has.

It will update to Snapdragon X plus after Asus bios update. Mine changed after the auto update.

Does your trackpad rattle when you use it during tapping/scrolling?
Mine flinches ever so much near bottom (without actual clicking on the pad) and makes a small sound with chasis

I have not experienced any weird trackpad behavior. It's been working flawlessly for 3 weeks. Perfect for my needs. I was just curious about the whole X Plus processor not listed.

BTW, searching for updates on the MyAsus app found 4 available updates that, after installing and restarting, changed processor info to X Plus as expected.

k thx. My trackpad works responsively and accurately, but just exhibits a little rattle with each light tap or 2 finger scrolling, basically little shakes/flimsy. So if it's not on every device then it's a QC issue. Might have to exchange it

Mine did rattle like crazy, it felt like I was tapping twice on each click, I ended up returning. The best buy rep also told me it was very unusual for the trackpad to do that.

edit: if you are planning to keep it, I would suggest you exchange or get it repaired with Asus. it is very annoying to use otherwise

Mine does this too, seems normal

Reviewer shows this is normal and what wedge trackpads are like - https://youtu.be/Kw2SApuwhWk?si=G...H87H&t=225
