Purchased two $200 gift cards on 12/30. The $400 charge posted on 12/30. The $200 credit posted today (1/4). I'm in no rush to spend them. Hopefully they have some decent sales in the near future. Worst case scenario, I'll pick up some quality running shoes at half price.

Original purchase 12/2. Split into 2 charges. Followed up 3 or 4 times by phone with Chase. Finally received $200 credit yesterday 1/8.

Its been over a month since my transactions posted and I escalated my split transaction issue to Chase, and Chase hasn't resolved the issue yet. I've nudged twice via Secure Message, and twice by phone. All four reachouts have had the same message from Chase; "This is a known issue, and your case has been escalated to the Chase Marketing team, but they are working through high case volume compounded with the holidays"

Very frustrating

I called in and they said to they are aware of these situations happening with backcountry and to send a secure message instead. They rejected it when I communicated via Secure messages. The guy basically copy pasted Backcountry's mission statement or something (completely unnecessary) and after that copy pasted the offer details only to say that I was rejected cause I did not meet the conditions even though I posted an attachment clearly showing my purchase date. I replied back saying that I did meet the terms and conditions since it stated that the purchase of $400 or more was to be made by December 31 and I had no control or power on when the merchant would post the transaction.

Got a reply back that said my message was being forwarded to appropriate department and I should receive a response within 5 days. This was on Jan 4th so I am hoping to hear back from them either today or Monday.

In the same boat, waiting for chase to manually credit the $200 because backcountry split the charge. Secure Message reps advised to wait 5 business days, twice. Called in twice for escalation and no resolution yet. Fcking bush league.

Seems like this turned into a major headache for Chase, and top of it if they don't process my credit I'm out of the return window with Backcountry so ill be using the return insurance benefit on my card as well to get my refund.

My timeline, charge posted on 12/9, split transactions, called Chase on 12/30, they created a case to escalate. 1/14, got an email saying offer redeemed, 1/15, 200 credit posted.

What I feel is you definitely need to call to create a case, post that, just wait in patience, a lot of patience.

Backcountry is shady af. They advertise the offer and split the charge on the backend to screw over customers. Good way to make a ton of money for those who don't bother to chase down their $200.

I don't think it was intentional; they have items ship in separate shipments / different warehouses and bill them as they ship. Far from the only retailer to do this. But Chase's redemption of the offer should have accounted for this, as there are plenty of offers based on cumulative spend across multiple transactions.

Placed my order on 12/7 and got my charge split. I finally got an email today saying that I successfully redeemed my offer with Chase so we'll see when that credit hits (email says 7-14 days)

My journey: I called 4 times and always asked to elevate with no help, they just kept giving me new case numbers. The only difference was that when I called a couple of days ago, I threatened to close my Chase bank account and credit card. It was a half-empty threat as I enjoy the benefits of the CSR card but I hate banking with Chase and have been recently considering banking with someone else (I feel their customer service has been on the decline the past few years). Anyway, I don't know if that "threat" was what finally moved the ball or if it was calling them for 6 weeks.

For those still waiting, hopefully you get your email confirmation soon!

My purchase was made 12/04, and finally got my redemption email today on 1/17. I had escalated via secure chat with a receipt on roughly 12/06.

Another data point. Chase is issuing a lot of credits today.

Ordered on 12/11.
Split shipments and charges on 12/12 and 12/13.
Sent Chase messages via Secure Message on 1/6 and 1/10.
Got a reply the issue was forwarded to another department.
Called Chase on 1/14.
Received the credit email today.
