Leno returned to 11:30pm time slot

NBC Shakeup -- Jay Leno Comes Out on Top [tmz.com]

We're told Jay and Conan have both been told of the changes. As for Jay, interestingly, he'll get what he always wanted -- his 11:30 PM time slot.
No words on what will happen to Conan and Fallon... whether they both will get pushed back one hour of if one of them will be fired.

I prefer Leno at 11:30 than 10:00.

If people cared about quality, the top talk shows would be Craig Ferguson and Jon Stewart, and Leno would be dead last, with Letterman just ahead of him.

No, it's crap. If 95% of people enjoyed smelling shit, it would still smell like shit. Majority support doesn't make it smell like roses. In any case, I think the ratings are more a case of familiarity than actual talent.

Accepted? That's hardly the term I would use for shhaggy's comments. More like extremely bitter.

Now that Leno has surpassed Conan's ratings, he has nothing in his arsenal that supports NBC getting rid of Leno anymore. Leno is doing what people like shhaggy don't want- succeeding.

Hell, I haven't watched a single Tonight Show episode since Leno went back on the air. I have watched Colbert and Jon Stewart though, and they're pretty funny. Although I have to admit, I rarely watch them first run, it's usually the re-run the next day when there's nothing on TV at 2pm.

Of course, I'm not surprised that Leno passed Conan. Although I will bet shhaggy will claim it's all due to lead-ins (and I'll be honest, I find that argument crappy, because NBC rarely has good 10pm shows anyway laugh out loud)

Would you like to compare the NBC 10pm show ratings to Leno ratings there? Even shit shows at 10p outperformed Leno. Of course lead-ins are an issue.

It depends, can you prove the ratings are better now with the 10pm leadins than when Leno was on?

Just off hand I'm sure SVU is getting at least 9 million viewers with about a 6 rating. Leno never even came close to that.

According to this [zap2it.com], Parenthood had only 5.9 million but won the 18-49, still better than Leno.

Law and Order on Monday pulled in 6.3 million.

Dateline got about 6 million on Friday and won the 18-49 demo.

You have an argument that The Marriage Ref is only the same as Leno was (at least last week), but that's about it.
