Previous deal for the S01-pF2043wb variant the other day @$140 appears to be the exact same specs and chassis. Likely a different SKU used for a different distributor, retailer, etc. They share driver versions in the support page and appears to include the same wireless keyboard and mouse combo as well. This variant does not have an optical drive in its specs, so the bezel is likely a blank slot. There should be a free hanging power cable for an additional 3.5 HDD but you will need a sata cable. There are two DIMM memory slots, with one being occupied by a stick of 8GB DDR4 2933Mhz.

Support page with specs
https://support.hp.com/us-en/prod...u=7Z6X4AAR

I'm likely going to turn one into a Plex media server since the i3-12100 has QuickSync. Maybe another for a light gaming setup for kids/siblings with a gpu upgrade and added memory. This appears to take a single-slot, low profile gpu which limits your options in addition to the 180W PSU. Some options, if buying new, include NVIDIA GTX 1650, AMD RX 6400, and maybe Intel Arc A380(likely no ReBar support from an OEM BIOS). XFX and Sapphire have low profile RX 6400 models that should fit. PCIe 4.0 is likely with the OEM mobo, due to being compatible with the H670 chipset, but could be PCIe 3.0 and would limit performance. I will update this comment with what I find when I receive my unit.

Edit: Came with SK Hynix 1x8GB single rank 3200mhz ram. 512GB SSD is Kioxa KBG50ZNV512G. There are two free hanging sata data and power cables. No optical drive, no SD card reader. Mouse keyboard was included. Booted to Windows desktop and idle was around 10-20w. Has space for both a 3.5 and 2.5 drive. 4 usb front, 4 back. Ports for Ethernet, VGA, HDMI, audio out, audio in. Mobo has free SATA port blank.

Couple of clues. Check the review's under this listing, some mention being surprised this including a keyboard which was not in the listing. The previous slickdeal post I linked also has people commenting it in the thread as well. Then there is also the HP support site for that variant, which lists the keyboard and mouse model (HP 510SP Black Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo). Looks to be your basic $5-10 office set if you need one. Wasn't able to find the support doc for this variant to confirm sadly.

CAUTION: I've bought from
Them a lot but man they're terrible at managing their quality of inventory. I won't buy any electronics from in the future. Poor customer service too.

I bought a hp z240 from ebay a year ago and that has served me well. It just doesn't have the latest CPU's. I think I'm just going to stick with business / enterprise stuff for the future.
I used to have Z420, and it worked well but too power hungry and loud, enterprise hardware is the way to go

I did, but i350t and x710 won't fit in x1 slot

I did try another pcie x1 one port intel card and it did boot, but it was not what I wanted to do in the first place.
Lesson learned, I'm going to avoid HP from now onโ€ฆdell works best for homelab
I don't have PCIe NICs to try myself, but on the ServerBuilds.net forum, several are using a very similar predecessor to this machine for pfSense and some have mention installing an i350-T4 NIC (SuperMicro AOC-SGP-I4). You might want to try that forum for hints.

Have anyone tried any HBA card on it? I ordered one specifically keeping that in mind. If it cannot boot with a HBA card, that would be a bummer

Oddly mine from Walmart did not come with mouse and keyboard. Just the tower.

Can I install Ubuntu on this?

Wondering if I should return and get Dell Precision i5-12500 for a little more from my neighbor.

Examined the box ? they used a bunch of bubble wrap and keyboard and mouse were all separately wrapped for me.

Yes you can install ubuntu.

Anyone figured exact memory speed for this model?
There seems different speed on the same part #.

Does the CPU/mobo compatible with PC4 3200MHz?

I received my Walmart purchase yesterday. It did come with the cheap mouse and keyboard with a unifying USB receiver. Everything, including the pc, look brand new. It had a 1x8GB stick of ddr4 3200. I pulled it and replaced with this Silicon Power 16GB kit (2x8GB) 3200MHz CL16 for $25.
https://a.co/d/hpw25Dh
Waiting for my used RX6400 to arrive. I also did a clean install of Windows 11 home to get rid of all the bloat ware.
All told, I will be in the this for about $226 (tax included) with the RAM & GPU upgrades. Disappointingly, it reads the pci-e x16 slot as 3.0. Otherwise I'm very happy with my purchase.
Thanks for the post. Could you post a follow up on how well it runs with the upgrades? Is the overclocked (1.35v) ram stable? Does the RX6400 dissipate heat well enough, given its cramped quarters? Thanks in advance for any follow up you may post.

The RAM listings don't seems to include "AA" at the end.
Does it matter? Do u need to buy one with the "AA" at the end?
