For trade-in, does one have to use the padded envelope that came with (or packed in) the new Visible iphone 13 package, or one could use one's own box (say the Apple iPhone white box that came with the old iphone)?

Did anyone else get activated automatically before you do it?
I'm planning to wait for 2 more weeks. But I suddenly received "Your port-in is now completed, welcome to our Visible family!".
Old phone can't register to network anymore. I have to start using the visible iphone13 early.

I'm assuming this is one of those phones that lock to the first SIM carrier that is inserted on power-on? Or is it shipped pre-locked to Visible/Verizon? What do you guys recommend as the quickest/easiest way to offload this phone? I'm debating whether to sell it right away as a locked phone, or wait the 60 days for unlock and then sell at whatever the going rate will be then.

If you sell it locked, is it possible that the phone will be forever locked?

I am still using my old phone/carrier even though I got the same email. I also ported out my number.

I know many iPhones sold to carriers will automatically lock to the carrier of the first SIM that's inserted on power on. Verizon is always a 60-day lock, but yes, I believe other carriers can have an indefinite lock.

I received trade in instructions with the prepaid shipping label the day before Visible shipped me the iphone. So I just used my own box.

Does anyone know that if I buy the visible plus annual plan, get the free iPhone 13, and then port over my current number, will I have 30 days to activate the phone or do I have to activate it by the end of the promo date (12/9) or i'll lose the free iPhone 13?

You have 30 days to activate. I'm not sure what happens after 30 days (maybe it auto-activates?).
