Just curious, but if you don't eat junk food, why would you open a McDonalds deal alert, read all the comments, and reply? It would seem like a waste of your time, imo.

You can order one when you are leaving your house and place the other order when you arrive.
This is true. The 15 min. countdown is from when you place the order or when you choose "use in restaurant" (and it generates a code).

gonna use my app cloner to get 100 $0.50 burgers /s
I realize that you're joking....but isn't it true that app cloners/cloned apps leave you vulnerable to security issues?

I wasn't referring to the "deal" aspect....just that people are making completely unrealistic comparisons between prices so many years ago and now. I'm well aware that 50 cents for a double cheeseburger is a better deal now (relatively speaking).
Not really unrealistic. Cheeseburgers CAN BE that price, proportionally, to a wage at current time. Most people think gas now is expensive until one does the comparison of it to the wage years ago. It is actually cheaper as well in SOME places. For cheeseburgers, it will be cheaper in MOST places.
What you were writing is that you were being sarcastic, which, people who want to be more informative, sometimes miss. The information was just more of an FYI.

So you have to tell them 2 order codes for drive thru pickup? Lol

Nope. That's unnecessary! Just ask them to make it fresh. It's worked for me many times. There's a "make to order" option right on their touchscreen.
I love asking people to do things tho. It makes great highlights in my life. When did they add that? I only ate Mc Ds on the Westcoast cause they had the double stacker breakfast sandwhiches

In the 90's a McD cheese burgers were $0.39 on Tuesday and double cheese burgers were $0.49 on Wednesday. otherwise they were $0.79 and $0.99 respectively. But the best was when Mcnuggets were $0.99 for 6 pieces or a Big Mac was buy 1 and get one for $0.01 more. Even in the early 2000's they were still under a buck. Likewise, Whopper Jr, Rodeo Burgers, and Double Cheese Burgers from BK were all a buck or under.
Cheeseburgers were $0.19 on $0.30/hr. in 1938. Should do the comparison of that to $0.39 in the 1990s (and you would have to know the type of 90s: beginning, middle, end?) to see what the wage was. Buy one, get one for a $0.01 are still not great deals. Why are they asking for a $0.01? Pennies could be like an extra $0.25 now comparative to the wage then. Straight BOGO deals are the no frill deals.

I went today asked for no cheese, no mustard, no ketchup, extra onions, extra pickles, add mayo. Literally got a burger with two patties, cheese and ketchup. Should have known better.
There is always a mistake when you have to pay for toppings. I know I did this just because I wanted to try a McCrispy, modify it, and see what a foreign sandwich would taste like combining two of them. They ended up forgetting to add a sauce and take off onions. You end up paying for the toppings and the less toppings they put on it means you are essentially paying more for the item than if you had not modified it, period.

I got a genius idea for McDonalds.....lower their prices back down to reasonable and I might try them again. What are frys, like $5 now? lol. Food for the rich!
Fries.* Fries USED TO BE $0.10 on $0.30/hr. in 1938. So it depends on where you bought those fries. If you bought those fries in CA, where the minimum wage is $16/hr.; you would be making a case PRO buying those fries.

I think you might be thinking about the person who got hurt or died at a disney park and they used their disney plus subscription terms to try to settle in arbitration but back pedalled after public outrage
Nope, I am aware of the separate Disney story, but McD's added similar lines to their terms as well when you use the app. Check the terms [mcdonalds.com] and search the page for "waiving". My understanding is the binding arbitration agreement means that if you were to be poisoned, for example by eating E. coli contaminated onions, you would not have the option to pursue a lawsuit in court or participate in a class-action lawsuit, and you are waiving your rights to a trial by jury.

I still do not think that would hold up in court. Businesses cannot waive anything if it causes mass casualties. They will learn soon enough. I mean people do not ever read their agreements anyway and many class action lawsuits are still a win for the plaintiff. That would mean a business could state "We put poison in our food, but because you electronically agree to our terms, you waive the ability to sue us for intoxicating you." It all comes down to the judge. Is playing by a contract more ethical than saving one's life? One is about protecting a business, which can easily recoup the loss vs. harm that results in death which can cost a community more in other ways and has more value than just profits.

you only get one lousy burger? this is not worth your time driving over there, when i was a kid you could buy a whole bag for 50 cents each
Could you enlighten us on 1.) what the year was when you were a kid and 2.) how many burgers a whole bag could contain or would hold? There is a lot of subjectivity in this post. Going by 1938, a cheeseburger was $0.19 on $0.30/hr. $0.50 on $7.25/hr. is tough to beat. There is a high chance that when you were a kid, it was closer to 1938, where the burgers were probably more expensive and it was probably a promotion (unless you could fill a whole bag, at regular price, each costing $0.50). Not to mention, are you writing about a hamburger or cheeseburger?

I saw on a social media reel that you can go into the app and clear cache and it gives you the deal again. Haven't tried this yet.
Well, now I know how to clear the cache of the application on my phone. I cannot wait to try this today. I will try it and get back to this thread. If you beat me to this, we'll compare results.

Will never understand complaints on deals like this, $.50 for a 450 cal burger with 25g protein and no other purchase requirements is a great deal.
Usually the complaints are not deal focused. It will be about how bad the food is for you or that at some time in the past, people were able to get it cheaper. People find more ways to critique than be happy with what is presented if they do not agree with it.

Too bad the fries to go with it are like $4 for a small now
Then do not order the fries. In fact, fries are what broke the bank back in 1938 as well. The hamburger and drink seem to cost less comparative to the wage increase than they did back in 1938. The fries actually increased in price as years went by.
