My 12th gen i9-12900K 3.2 GHz is running fantastic for years now
Same my 12900 paired with 7900xt runs perfectly at 1440p. I'm gpu bound in most games and the 12900 can keep up with the 7900xt just fine especially at higher then 1080p resolutions

I've been Intel for the last 25 years, but unless you have some very specific reason to be with Intel the current gen is not worth it. AMD is the much better bet. The only issue is that memory compatibility is more finicky - make sure to check reviews.

Well don't get the 15th gen Arrow Lake CPUs. Their memory compatibility is worse!
Mainly becuase the memory controller is on the CPU now.

Intel looks like Boeing now. I just hope it won't be as bad as them ending up like a VW or Nissan.

I've sold both of my 13700K now, however both of mine were carefully tweaked and worked pretty well without any issues. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it but if you are very seasoned with tweaking AC/DC loadlines, undervolting and power limiting, this is still worth considering. Especially if you have Amex business card Amex Offer at, add a filler and take another $40 off. Also worth noting the KS are better binned, so say for 5.4ghz it will require less voltage, in other words, slightly safer than other 13/14th gen13th gen all have 5 years warranty now as well.

I have this CPU, it gets pretty hot and consumes a lot of energy but I've not had any stability issues that others have.
Give it time... it is still early.

Don't do it. I'm on my third and it's also bad. System resets daily after changing MB, Memory, GPU, PSU, and cooling. Ready to trash and go with AMD.
I am using i7 without any problems... I think you messing up or doing some stupid ideas on your system.

You wont get a better processor for this price. People scaring everyone by miss information. Oxidation was only a batch of 13-14k. They were removed from shelf and some were sold which intel is replacing rma (extended warranty for 2 year extra so total 5 year warranty)

Cpu going bad were mostly motherboard giving the cpu so much voltage. When i installed my 13900kf my msi motherboard default setting was "unlimited". Meaning that it would give unlimited power/voltage to the cpu. Right away saw spike of 1.6v 1.7v given to my cpu and 340w/99c (before the microcode bios update). Any cpu will degrade by this. Downloaded the latest microcode, set my cpu max voltage to 1.35v limit. Running 24/7 all cores at 5.7ghz at 79c.

Everyone scream x3d cpu. For gaming is great if you play at 1080p lower setting. At 4k cpu wont make a differents. All of them are in a margin of error.
But some people are happy when they see
14900k 380fps
9800x3d 420fps
Where in reality no one will notice this difference

The flaw shows with use. It is why the gaming server farms were the first to start waiving the red flag. They were showing a near 100% failure rate over time. It is suspected the BIOS patch just slows the degradation.

I haven't been keeping up w the specifics, but is it all 13/14 gen chips? Or just certain lines in 13/14? I have a 13th gen i3 in production, but haven't noticed any issues
It is all 13th and 14th gen parts over 65 watts. The bios patch supposedly fixed it, but many industry experts suspect it just delays the problem.

The error shows up after use. Gaming server farms were the first to isolate the problem in late 2023 with it being verified q1 2024. Those machines are being pushed 24/7.
