This thing is 5 years old. Afraid they might come out with a new one soon.
Yep, this went on clearance a few times including Gamestop sold this for like $80 a couple of years back.

It's in stock for shipping, but wants to charge me $35. Are others seeing that?
Yes, looks like same charge for me if I opt to ship the 2 available nearby.

Lol I feel like mine is getting dumber and dumber.. Must be a sign google is discontinuing it or something lol
It is getting dumber, cloud compute costs money and google doesn't make anything off of these after purchase. They are dumbing it down and removing features so their cloud costs go down.

Good price but it says "Notify me" so I think the deal is dead unless I am missing some magic combination to show it in stock.

The Nest Max Hub is garbage. I've had it for 2-3 years. Ever since the Fuschia OS update, it doesn't work well with the Nest Mini speakers if they are a room or two away. Poor prioritization when given voice commands, it always says "something went wrong" even when you are standing next to it giving a command with a whisper that seemingly only it can hear. Multiple calls to Nest support are fruitless. Don't buy this max hub if you are also using nest mini speakers; you will be sorry to waste the money.

I have many of the smaller device and one of these that I picked up for $70 at Target a while ago. I don't think this is a great deal for this device unless you REALLY want it and know what you are getting.

We used to have a Lenovo unit, now we've had this unit in our kitchen for years. It's been wonderful - it's usually a photo album for our google photo library, but is also my primary kitchen timer while cooking, I use it to control our Sonos speakers, thermostats, and settling bets with my kids.

I agree with most of the sentiment here. Despite standing right next to the device, other devices within the home will respond. Sometimes even the device in my pocket. Often it will acknowledge that I've set a timer, only to not start the timer. It has poor voice recognition, and does give an error often that something went wrong. I am buying two of these for parents though, because they work great as digital picture displays.

I moved over to Alexa for my smart devices. They have more compatibility with third party devices, and they're actively adding & updating their own products in the ecosystem. I feel like Google is going to announce abandoning the Nest product line any day now, considering their history.

This is the only google device I've ever had that straight up bricked itself from a firmware update. That said, I ordered one because I can always return. I just use it as a picture frame, and speaker. With the bonus of being able to confirm any internet issues (as the screen changes when it loses an internet connection). The old 7" ones used to go on sale for around $50 or a bit less a few years back. Those have always been solid for me.
