I don't know where you're getting the "no NPU" thing, think it's standard on the chip and it's advertised with this laptop.

All that said, this is a great deal. The usual "Windows on ARM" disclaimers, make sure you research what programs you'll specifically need, this isn't for everyone, blah blah blah. But for a good many users, this is a solid machine.

Yeah when drafting the post, I was using the online compare feature on Microcenter to figure out if there were any differences compared to the recent $799 deal. The tool said "N/A" under NPU. I took a deeper look at the description and have since removed that line of the post.

Intel is even giving up on Lunar Lake as they said the first batch was a "one off".
Agreed! It's a weird time for windows laptops. Even considering a MacBook Air instead

Will this laptop run Google drive?
Yes Google Drive is in beta but works great. It should be out of beta soon but it works just fine for me.

Just wanted to say - great discussion in this thread. This thread prompted me to research Intel's Lunar Lake vs Qualcomm Snapdragon vs Apple M3/M4. Definitely learned a lot! This next year or so will be really interesting to see how things play out. My biggest concern would be future support for Snapdragon if Lunar Lake really does take off. It's great to see that we have more options now, and that competition is pushing innovation Smilie

Intel Lunar Lake is definitely going to give the Snapdragon a run for its money. If you don't need a laptop, it's better to hold off to get a laptop with a lunar lake processor to avoid any potential compatibility issues

Any good video editing programs for Windows on arm? I have my MacBook Air but I would love to jump the windows if I can.
I couldn't PM at in store due to their system rejecting being very low price but got it through chat.

Lunar lake is a one off as they cost about $1000 a chip to produce which wont scale, snapdragon is the future, the software just needs to catch up

That seems like a great deal as well, similar specs.

My work gave me an Intel-based Surface for work, so I kinda fell in love with the build quality. The Vivobook might have great build quality too - I just haven't seen one in person.
I picked up one of these Vivobooks while the deal was running. I decided I like the build quality on the Surface 7 better, enough so to keep the Surface 7, but the Vivobook is a really nice deal as well and a tempting alternative.

For the Surface, I liked the lack of vents on the bottom (the Vivobook had a lot of vents), substantially stiffer chassis with less give, and haptic touchpad. The keyboard also felt a little nicer.

That said, the Vivobook is still a nice machine, with good build quality and a bigger/wider screen. It also has more ports.
