This is similar to another NFCU card post, except this one has no annual fee and 2% cash back as well, and this one includes a one time credit for Walmart+ up to $98, $200 bonus if you spend $2000 in the first 90d, and collision damage insurance on car rentals. There are some additional card version specific benefits linked below. It's pertinent to note, if this is like the flagship card, this benefit is good for each card you attach to the card account, and you can attach up to 4 for a total of 5 cards. Each of the 5 cards should be eligible for the Walmart+ credit benefit, not the $200 credit, thats one per account. Each card attached to the account gets a unique number which is nice, because if one gets lost, you can lock/replace just that one vs all 5.

Card details: https://www.navyfederal.org/loans...wards.html
Other benefits of the Visa version: https://www.myvisacardportal.com/...e=benefits
Other benefits of Mastercard version: https://www.mcardbenefits.com/NF-...world.html

You must have a NFCU account or be eligible to open an NFCU account:

Previous post on the flagship card for reference.

I highly doubt it. The FAQ states for a limited time you receive a $98 statement credit when you purchase the membership for $49 or more. So you would have to create the charge. I'm on hold to change my AmEx More card to this one because it's a good deal now that PayPal MC went down to 1.5%.

I worded my post really poorly after I read it again.

I meant if I have the Cash Rewards card already, not Walmart+. So I can create the charge, I just am unsure if it only applies to new cardholders, or all cardholders. My guess is it will - my Flagship card automatically paid for Amazon membership when they added that perk.

Fine print says it's available for ppl who opened the credit card account within a year. So unless you've had the card for less than a year the offer isn't available.

Ah, they might. I would check with Customer Service. For a limited time indicates it isn't planned on being annual. But if you ask, they should be able to confirm. Good luck.

I love NavyFed.

A financial institution that has no problem kicking out fraudulent members is A+ in my book. They still have plenty of members after giving tons the boot.. Largest CU in the world.

They have great products that aren't even advertised. Unreal.

I have the Cash Rewards and charged Walmart+ earlier this year when they introduced the promo to the card. I was NOT credited. I messaged them to ask and they said it did not apply to existing card members who did not have the promo initially. It's not like the Flagship, unfortunately.

Just note when you convert a card, you will get the Walmart+ benefit but you probably won't get the $200 cb offer.

If you have the rewards card you could call and ask if you convert to the rewards plus card, can you get the benefit then. When I converted from the rewards card to the flagship I got the prime and global entry benefits for every card tied to the account. My college age kids were pretty excited to get prime for free. I'm contemplating converting to the rewards plus to get us all Walmart+. The last time I converted my card number/info didn't even change which was nice.

Yeah, probably not. But not my core reason for getting the card as I don't expect hit that threshold in the 90 days.

Converting to a plus card isn't an option. You are given the plus card if you are approved for a credit line above 5k. If you are approved for less, it is the regular card. There isn't a "choice" so to speak.

You can ask to be re-evaluated for an increase, note this probably will need a hard credit pull.

Oh, I didn't need an increase or WANT one. I got the PLUS because the credit limit on the AmEx More card had been 12k. I was just stating that when APPLYING, there isn't a choice between the two cards. There is a choice between Visa and MC and I chose MC because they had so many more benefits. If I recall Extended Warranty.

Thank you for bringing this card to my attention. I THINK I saw it a few months back and chose against it. I used to have several IRAs with Navy, but there rates have not been competitive and so the card is my only relationship left with them. I'd like to stay a member because they are the largest CU and having a credit card that is actually active will certainly help. I was not using the AmEx because rewards redemptions started at $50 and I increased my rewards for groceries from their 3% to 5% using Citi. With PayPal MC reducing to 1.5%, this will replace the charges from that account. I'll still keep it because it pays 3% when checking out with PayPal.
