Bad deal. Been there, done that and got rejected on trade in. Got charged full price and more. They wanted another ~$250 beyond the $269 for used S23.
The return period is 15 days.
The period for acceptance of a trade in is about 3 weeks.
If you try to return once you find out trade in was rejected, you can't. You can't even find a customer service to talk about it.

Make sure to document your trade-in by taking photos/videos of the device's condition before sending it. I traded in a pristine 1st gen iPhone SE with no damage for the S22. Weeks later I get an email stating the trade in was going to be rejected because there was a crack on the back of the phone that wasn't there before I had sent it in. The email also had photos attached showing the supposed damage. I had to contact their chat support and argue that the damage was likely caused by their inspectors or shipment receivers. Chat Support had me upload my photos of the phone's condition, which I'm glad I took beforehand. to prove my case. In the end, they relented and "manually completed" the trade-in, so I didn't end up getting charged the difference.

I've done more than a dozen trade-ins with Samsung over the years and this is the second time this scenario has happened, so ALWAYS take photos/video of your trade-in. $350 credit for a 1st gen iphone SE was a sweet deal despite the nightmare hassle of the rejection.

My current Samsung trade in got a delivery exception due to 'weather' in Irvine Texas and is stuck there 🙄
FedEx lost one of mine last summer. After about 3 months Samsung automatically marked it as approved.

Aint no way at this stage a $99 refurbished galaxy S21 that requires trade in is better than a brand new 2024 Moto G Power for $40 straight up.

I am trying to have a newer spare phone over this iPhone SE 1st gen, but can't seem to get the $99 deal. LOL. Oh well.
They probably ran out of the S21 so the Continue button will be grayed out. U can go for the S22 which is $80 more.

The point is your 2024 Moto G power wont get $800 credit when it comes to trade in deals in the future.

I also have a Motorola E4, from 2017 deal, that is still working in good shape.Wonder if anyone was successful in trading such a thing for a full $350 credit.
I just turned in my A20 from like 2019 for S22. Last year, w/ other trade in, I trade in old ipad mini 2 for $200 from like 2014 for their S7FE tablet deal

What are the expiration dates on OS and security updates for:
S21
S22
S23
S21 security updates end January 2026 (S22 is Feb 2027, S23 is Feb 2028) -- see https://endoflife.date/samsung-mobile

I considered getting an S21 for a parent, but this stopped me. I'll wait for the next good deal on a new Samsung A15, which will get security updates through December 2028.

Have had the S22 for roughly 28 months and it's pretty solid. Good size and good battery life. I used to go about 5-6 days between charges, but now it is about 3.5-4 days from 100 to 15 percent. Fits in pockets and is not too heavy. No headphone jack which may or may not be an issue for some. No complaints and still using it.

So, how much of a charge does the trade-in have to hold? I don't want to part with my current phone without a replacement in-hand, but I have some borderline e-waste I could send in.

Ditto. They don't have any S21 anymore. Same as for the last time they ran this promotion. Maybe they will have more in the future.

Does this include a warranty or do you have to purchase warranty coverage? Thanks.
