The problem with these is the spoon depth is almost non-existent, so as far as 'basting' it will take a lot of dips into the sauce, but bamboo stalks has limits for thickness.

It's nice that they give some ideas about how to use a spoon, sometimes it's hard to know what these specialty gadgets are for
