Anyone wanting to "JAILBREAK" this don't spend all your time trying to input ADB code, you can if that's your thing but I would rather get to using this right away, download POJECTIVY LAUNCHER (https://play.google.com/store/app...n_US&pli=1). It does all the programming in the background so you don't have to. It's FREEMIUM Launcher available directly from the play store but well worth the $7-8 bucks to change wallpaper and extra features. It already makes the launcher the default screen when hitting the home button for free using accessibility permissions. If you want to take it to another level also get Button Mapper and change the buttons on the remote to open something else. Don't forget to click BUILD VERSION 5 times... Located in system > about to activate developer settings. Notable addons and mentions are obviously DOWNLOADER, MOONLIGHT REMOTE GAME STREAMING from PC, CX EXPLORER to sideload APKS via network, SMARtTUBE - zero add youtube app (28544 downloader code), STREMIO (with Premiumize. STAY AWAY from Real-debrid, they turned on their clients), Fosmon Mini Bluetooth Keyboard, & the TRENDnet 2.5G USB-C to RJ-45 Ethernet Adapter (Built in ethernet only does 100mb/s.) I have EVERY STREAMER from apple tv to nvidia shield (TUBE & PRO), roku, firesticks, and chromecasts.. This IS the best bang for buck android tv at this price as of 12/2024. New On version pending in 2025 to replace Google TV 4K Streaming Box - ONN 4k pro plus (- this version only has 2gb so still not an alternative for this): https://www.androidtv-guide.com/s...google-tv/
I bought this yesterday. I highly recommend the Launcher "Projectivy Launcher" to replace the default launcher. Removes all the ads and let's you customize your screen as much or as little as you want. Removes all the bloat from Google TV. You can download it from the app store.
10/100 is a reasonable cost-saving measure for a streaming device. 4K streaming only requires about 15-20 Mbps. 100 Mbps is plenty for streaming media over the internet or even over a LAN. The only time you'd get the benefits of gigabit is if you're downloading/transferring large files, which device isn't really designed to do and most people don't do often on their streaming devices.

In for one, getting real tired of my Fire sticks running out of storage. 10/100 ethernet is a puzzling choice though since gigabit's been the norm for many years, I imagine 100mbps will barely be adequate for 4K streaming.
gigabit has not been the norm for many years. The new gen fire cube doesnt even have a gigabit port and it's 3x the cost of this.
This has such good reviews, but right out of the box, there's a noticeable audio lag on all apps. Has anyone else noticed that? Can't find anyone else complaining, about it, which is driving me mad. Didn't happen with my previous streaming box.
What is the jail breaking potential for this since it runs on Google OS? My JB FireStick is laggy and I'm looking for another inexpensive option.
Even easier to sideload apps on Google OS. Fire OS has some compatibility issues with some playstore apk's, but since this is full google OS the sky's the limit.

I haven't experienced that at all. I don't have any troubleshooting tips, just commenting to confirm your suspicions that something is wrong there
It's a great streaming device. I appreciate that it supports external USB devices in ExFAT format for watching video files. I've confirmed that it supports Dolby Atmos on Apple TV+, Disney+, and Netflix. However, I'm not sure why it doesn't seem to support Dolby Atmos on Amazon Prime Video. Could you share your experience with Prime Video?

If you're ripping your own 4K Blu-rays, 100 Mbps is definitely not enough. I have discs that go over that with just the video, not even counting the audio and the rest of the overhead.

No such problem for me.
However, I had other problems. It would sometimes just become jerky (like losing fps). If I backed out of the video playing into the app and played again, it was gone.
Also, "always hdr" thing is strange. if I turn it off, my 1080p content becomes jerky. If I turn it on, the 1080p content is a little bit washed out. I have frame rate matching setting turned on for my OLED TV.
My AppleTV had lots of audio lag issues. But, it was different for different files and apps. After a TV update and AppleTV update, it seems to have gone away but still have weird frame skips.
