Do basically all new quality TVs come with 4k or better and Amazon Fire 4k built-in?

One of our older Fire sticks stopped working (infamous frozen at "Amazon" start screen and none of the recommended methods to fix it works), so I need to buy a new one. It was used on an older TV that's just HD, not 4k. But we might replace it with a newer 4k TV soon, so I figured that I might as well order a new 4k stick to be ready for it. But then I realized that chances are that most newer TVs have Fire 4k built-in, so we wouldn't really need a 4k stick for it. Is that so, and is it worth getting one anyway in case the TV's built-in Fire 4k is slow or somehow limited?

Yes, all newer TVs you find will be 4K.

I have no idea if you should expect to find Fire 4K built-in, I imagine it depends on the brand of TV.

Regardless, I would avoid using the built-in TV apps as they just don't perform as well as stand-alone hardware in my opinion. So I would buy the Fire stick, it's currently $28 on sale...

Yeah, I did a little research and turns out that Fire TV on even newer TVs isn't as widespread as I thought it would be, the way that YouTube and Netflix and even Prime are, so I'll just get the stick, 4k since it's not that much more expensive and is backwards compatible and I've heard even a bit faster in general.

if you're going to get a new stick...amazon typically offers trade-in credit, so you should be able to get the price down a bit more, too, while also getting some e-waste off your hands

The ones I no longer need get me another $3 off, which I guess is something.

Interesting. One thing I don't get though is that with billions spent on consumer data gathering and analysis software, I'm still getting mostly ads for prescription drugs I don't need, car repair insurance I don't want and detergent I'll never buy. Literally none of the ads I see in any context mean anything to me. Either I'm a unicorn or they still suck at this. And my purchasing habits aren't really esoteric and niche. Electronics, laptop, tablet, clothes, shoes, appliances, car parts, bike parts, etc. Micro-targeting still seems more a goal than a reality.
