I think this $130 deal is still unbeatable. But seeing that this was posted by staff I imagine this will be a FP regardless and this comment will likely be deleted shortly.

I doubt that will happen anytime soon/ever. What will likely happen is mx4 will be discontinued when mx6 is made, cause sony is likely not going to be making 3 models of the same line that are direct successor. But, that's just my guesses

XM4 is way more comfortable than the XM5 in my experience, so anyone waiting around for a good deal on good BT headphones should get on this. XM5 have a thin and less-cushioned headband that hurts the crown of my skull, and they put a lot of pressure on the ears. XM4 has much more generous cushioning and a wider headband (which means the weight is distributed across a wider area, decreasing the pressure on any one area)

I got the coupon code from SheerID, but whenever I enter the promo code on BuyDig it gives me a "coupon not found" error. Anyone get this too? Not too sure how to fix. Does the BuyDig account have to be my .edu email address?

And the Bose are even more comfortable than the XM4.

Been using these for a year and a half at the gym and they're amazing. The speak-to-pause feature works pretty well. Sometimes it kicks on during a heavy set, even after adjusting it, otherwise I'd call it perfect. It's really good at amplifying voices so talking to people isn't difficult at all. I sweat more than average and have not run into any issues regarding that. Just make sure to wipe them off each time and you're good.

Just tried them all in Target. 720N is just a headphone with decent(little) noice cancelling and sound quality. XM5 gets better noise cancelling and bass while XM4 is getting higher and more clear sound. XM5's noise cancelling is doing 80% work of airpods max, of course, Airpods is more expensive. And for me, XM5 is more comfortable than XM4

Sony wouldn't honor my xm4 warranty and cause much consternation. I'll never buy a Sony audio product again.

XM4 has Bluetooth 5.0
XM5 has Bluetooth 5.2

Both the XM4 and XM5 have LDAC codec, high bit rate/high latency(delay). High bit rate has better audio quality.

Bluetooth 5.2 headphones can use LC3 codec, lower bit rate/lower latency(delay). Lower latency is good for video streaming and gaming.

According to ChatGPT, it appears that the XM5 headphones do NOT support LC3.

"The Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones do NOT support the LC3 codec or LE Audio. 

In contrast, the Sony WF-1000XM5 earbuds do support the LC3 codec through LE Audio."

I purchased the headphones using the code. I think at the time it said there were only 8 uses left. I think it's not working because the code reached the limit number of uses
