M4 Advantage
- being 1 year newer (OS Support)
- Brighter SDR screen brightness 1000nits vs 600nits
- Better webcam center stage 12MP vs 2.1 MP
- Better battery life
- Better single core performance
- Slightly faster SSD (the M1 series Macs are still better)
M3 Pro Advantage
- More RAM 18gb vs 16gb but at a lower bandwidth 150 vs 200
- Significantly better GPU (software dependent)
The biggest advantage of the M3 Pro over the M4 is the graphics and price. (If you can get this deal) Otherwise the base M4 is the better option if price was equal IMO. Having a brighter screen for outdoor use, longer battery and better webcam are more important then the M4 is a better choice.
