The first bike arrived damaged and unusable. They refused to honor their return policy, insisting that I either repair it myself (they sent me a link to a YouTube video wtf) or bring it to a mechanic at my own risk. Suffice to say, I opened a credit card dispute and am still fighting to retain my credit.
The second bike hadn't been shipped when the issues with the first began, so I requested a cancellation, which they confirmed. Then they shipped it anyway. I refused the delivery. It arrived at their facility 2 weeks ago and I still haven't received a refund. Another dispute was opened and I'm having to deal with that now.
Edit: just checked and the first dispute was finally resolved in my favor just this morning. Now on to the second dispute…
I ordered one of the Able bikes in the last deal. About three weeks went by between the time of the order and when I realized I hadn't received the bike. Meanwhile, they spammed the heck out of my email account with other "promotions". I emailed the general customer service email address demanding they provide me an update. No response. About another week goes by and I get a "your order shipped" email notification. Great! Fantastic! Except that a few hours after receiving that email, I got a retraction saying they had made a mistake and my order hadn't shipped.
I emailed them to demand cancellation of the order based on the long wait and my spidey senses telling me something was off. I actually got a response within a few hours that acknowledged my request and told me the order would be cancelled. Guess what? The next day, Mendham shipped the bike. Geez. When I got the shipment notification, I started checking the tracking and noticed it took them more than a day to actually ship the bike (they just issued tracking by creating a shipping label). In the interim, I again emailed them about cancellation and warned them not to ship. No response. The bike arrived and box and interior parts were beat to hell. I put in a dispute with my credit card company, who immediately issued a confirmation of successful dispute, a sign they know what Mendham is up to. I tried several more times to demand they take the bike back. They finally responded on the third email and asked for a huge list of items. I took the bike to a charity that fixes up bikes and gives to kids in need. I'll just rely on my CC underwriter.
Please save yourself from the same headaches and from having to write an equally painful testimonial on SD by just skipping this "deal". It's not a deal and if you research online, you find the bikes are junk anyways.

I've done a top bleed using the shimano cup and procedure but still cannot get the lever to firm up after multiple attempts. I know my front master cylinder is crap as it is leaking and reintroducing air in the system.
Reading around, there's a lot of complaints about the same issues with these brakes.

Appreciate the info but I've decided that I'm not dealing with these crappy and dangerous brakes anymore. I'll either replace them or send the bike back depending on Mendham's response.
I can get the front wheel on eventually but the front brakes are still a hot mess. From what I can tell so far (out of patience trying to mess with it for a bit) there's no way for me to get the wheel spinning without the spacers being too close to the rotor causing them to rub against each other. Sort of makes me think one or both of the forks turned a bit during shipment.
Pretty sure the bike that's got both wheels out of true and fork damage has to go back. Letting myself think over the second bike for a while to decide if it's fixable or not. I don't know much about hydraulic brakes yet but I imagine that the pads should be in line with the rotor and these are at a pretty good angle.
I've tried the spacer in different orientations with different washer combinations but nothing is adjustable enough to make them flat to the rotor and avoid rubbing up against the screws. If anyone has any ideas though I am all about it.
Outside of the shipping damage... this is a really nice bike. I like most everything about it and sort of want to figure out a way to make it work even if it takes a bit. The full color screen is beautiful. The battery is hefty and substantial. The charger is just hot garbage and should be tossed. The fenders and rack are lovely.
Someone was saying earlier that all these bikes needed professional assembly and I disagreed. After receiving it I still disagree. It's putting on the handlebars, pedals and front brakes. If the bike was properly shipped it would be a done deal for anyone with a few minutes. The issues are such that anyone who has seen a bike will know if a wheel is not round or a brake is not braking.
Let me know if I am missing something obvious. Not sure I want to get involved in replacing the fork as that would eat up my 10 day return. I'll see what they have on offer. What a stupid way for them to ship these out. A little foam and a well built box could have made, vs cost, them a fortune.

It is such a shame that what seems like a decent bike is ruined by such crappy brakes and even crappier packaging. $3 in packaging and a little more diligence in the warehouse could have saved all these bent forks and wheels. What a waste of time, money and resources.
Inspecting my box further, I suspect that some of this damage occurred prior the final shipment to us end customers. Some of the rips and tears in my box had dust collected in the folds and the inside had more dust than could be attributed to just the shipping time to my locale. Maybe these boxes were previously damaged and they didn't bother to inspect them before shipping them out to us.
It's also weird that the boxes showed signs of being previously opened. And, why would they just hang the front caliper in a bag on the fork instead of installing it? I've bought a bunch of bikes online and never had the calipers not come pre installed. There's no reason from a packing standpoint as there is room in the box right where the caliper goes. Weird…
Best of luck dealing with Mendham. I've sent off pics of my issues and am waiting on a response.
Received my second pair of bikes. These actually had some cardboard bracing in them.
One has a bent fork. The second forks appear to be OK. Except it has broken wheel spokes. Might end up stripping the good parts of the other three broken bikes to make one functional.
shipping boxes all obliterated. however the plastic that braces the front wheel forks was still intact. the boxes had Alot more physical damage then the first two. however I dunno if UPS just keeps things standing up more often with a box like this VS FedEx. as the interior of the units as a whole were far less damage. these came from Cali to East Coast on a week trip vs a single day from NJ with FedEx.
they also had lithium stickers on them

For this price, it is still a deal. Instead of going through the hassle of bleeding these crappy brakes you could buy low end sealed shimano disc brake calipers and levers that you could just bolt on to these bikes.
They are only $20 to $30 on Amazon.

I just completed a capacity test to the battery's low voltage cutoff point. From full to LVC was 10.93Ah capacity out of a claimed 11.6Ah. So the initial test shows this battery has degraded ~5.8% from calendar aging.
That's not great, but not as bad as I feared since my battery showed up fully discharged. There's a chance it may improve a bit through the first few cycles but I have my doubts.
I may cycle it a few times while I wait for a resolution on my brakes and shipping damage issues. I'll report back if anything changes.
