Slickdeal hack: if you are renewing your plan and live in a state with sales tax, just use an address in a non tax state like Oregon. It doesn't stop the shipping fee (Good grief Redpocket, how dumb is that) however. You will get your renewal codes via email so you don't have to wait for whatever it is they ship to you.

Title should show true price with required shipping is $145.55. This is about the same cost as the sale this spring ($150 buy free shipping), but not as good as the $120 price last Nov 2023.
Make sure they give you the full 5GB for GSMA. I've used this plan on 3 lines, and I had to chat with CS on all of them to get the balance to show 5 GB.
Like a previous poster, this deal came around too late for me. I already ported to T Mobile connect 5GB and going to stick with it for now.

I've done this the last few years. The shipping thing is pissing me off though. Anyone know what happens if I select the new customer option instead of renewal? Do I still get a pin I can use for renewal? I'm just looking to cost them a few bucks extra to mail out a sim card because of their stupidity (greed?). I always wait until the last day to enter the renewal pin anyways.

Proceed with caution. My high schooler's account would randomly be suspended for 'excessive' messaging and would get stranded at school or events since they couldn't call me.

Customer support was no help identifying the issue.

$145 + tax on 5GB annual plan is not a slick deal. I am still a RP customer, but have ported 2 out of 3 lines out. One line to Visible (my kid needed more data so $20/mo, but no tax) and the other line to Infimobile (10GB annual plan). Why would anyone pay 50% more $ for 50% less data compared to Infimobile?

Not a slick deal!! Nothing to see here. Move along :-)

This is horrific and happened to me, too. It creates a massive personal safety issue, and at one point, it is going to happen at the wrong time, end up with a REALLY bad result, and RP will be responsible for this.

In my case, they gave no warning whatsoever--they just suspended the account on my daughter's phone. We wondered all day what had happened to her--probably that she had dropped/busted her phone. But when she got home, she told us her phone had not been working. So I chatted with RP, and they said that they suspended it for "abuse" because of sending too many text messages--huh??? She supposedly has unlimited talk/text messages with her plan...

I asked for specific details about what she had done so I could tell her, and make sure it did not happen again. They said they could not provide any details, just that their detection algorithm detected abuse and automatically suspended the account (with no warning whatsoever). The most the could say was that she was probably dialing up premium services like weather or horoscope lines.

But nope, that was not the case--we went through her SMS messages. She had been working on a project with classmates and they were simply chatting back and forth. In one hour, they had sent about 150 texts, which seems like a lot, but not when ~10 people are involved. Certainly not something that I think would be abusive/excessive given the plan's "unlimited" advertising.

If you are buying the renewal / existing plan, they are just going to email you the activation code. I think you can just use your friend's Delaware address or perhaps some random Delaware address to avoid sales tax.

I actually looked at doing just that, but the Redpocket website adds on a lot more taxes and fees and comes out to $182.75 vs the ebay cost of $134.25. So actually more like $50 more. 5GB for $11.19/month vs 10GB for $15.23/month could still be worth it for some, but I rarely get up to 5GB with all the access to WiFi I have. Most months it's 2.5 to 3GB.
