I own this chair. The leg massager is spring loaded and there's no way to lock the position outside of using your knees. I'm 5' 7" and find the spring tension too stiff. So if I recline my knees always start to bend and my calves come out of the massager. I will not buy another spring loaded chair.

Dont buy . You will regret. It doesn't massage lower back and you cant return this junk like Costco

3D is a marked improvement from 2D with the rollers being able to move in all 3 dimensions of space, not just side to side and up and down, but also in and out for more realistic/deeper massages. 4D is a bit of a BS marketing ploy though since obv there's no extra 4th dimension of movement, but 4D chairs are typically just a more high end chair having better programs or designs of the rollers, like speed, improved roller path, and often times a deeper/harder massage; just generally a more high end chair. Your best bet is to find a massage chair store near you to try them all out to feel the differences; I am not in a city with a massage chair store though so.. this was my best bet!
Other things to look at are S vs L/SL track, rollers in the footbed, heated back/calves, etc. It's a whole field to research haha.
