aaaaand the batteries are $600 plus to run this.
Well for starters this is a snowblower
I have this snow blower. It's well worth it at $199 if you're already invested into the ego platform and get snow where you live. It can clear up to 6" of snow and is super easy to operate. I've had mine for 4 years and I've only had to replace the scrapper bar once.

Tempting, but I only have one 12Ah battery that came with my mower. They had the same snow blower that came with batteries on clearance for $299 not long ago, better deal IMO unless you have a ton of EGO batteries.

I would just hate to have my lawn mower and snow blower depending on one single battery that could go bad at any second. Batteries are just stupidly expensive by themselves. Get some batteries in a kit for backup would have been much better.

Big Ego fan, and wanted to nab this deal, but the reviews are not good and I just don't think this is a well designed release from them with the plastic/rubber auger design. I'm going to pass on this one, even though it's very tempting. Thanks!

Trick to any single stage blower, whether it's electric or gas, is to spray it with a lubricant. If you're already invested in this line, this is a good additional to your collection. I've had my 80v kobalt for years and it has served me well in the Northeast.

First time house owner here and don't have any experience with electronic snowblowers. Are the batteries standardized across different snowblowers? I'm tempted to buy thisand the battery to match but don't want to be stuck with both the blower and battery if I decide not to keep the blower

Mower or snowblower, for Ego, all of the batteries work in all of the Ego appliances except for the very high draw units and very low capacity batteries.

That being said, if you're asking if a different brand battery will work in this unit, I am afraid not. The battery is a very large cost component for electric tools and all of them are proprietary and locked to the brand.

That being said, I love my Ego tools/appliances, they're a very good cost to value proposition in my opinion. I have the string trimmer, leaf blower, mower, and 18" bar chainsaw.

Batteries lock you into the brands' ecosystem. So you can't use DeWalt batteries with Ego or Milwaukee or Kobalt, Bosch interchangeably. That being said, you should consider a company what makes good tools in general and invest accordingly with their line of products, unless you want several types of chargers and batteries littering the household. I personally went with DeWalt.

There is the usual snow jet spray. That's what I use. Others have tried ceramic wax spray along with the home remedies of wd40 or cooking oil. Quick search on the internet will give you more info.
Personally I don't like using cooking oil or wd40. It mixes with the snow and gets messy.
