My experience with InfiMobile has been fine. I tried a 6-month, minimal data plan (500MB/month) with them for a non-critical phone last year. It was dirt-cheap like $18 total so just $3/month. It went fine so I just renewed it for a year for $36 total ($60 - 40% off coupon).

Now because of the whole Red Pocket fiasco, I have moved two important lines over to InfiMobille on their 10GB annual plan for $99. One of the lines is already active for two weeks and no problems so far except initial APN setup (did not do it automatically so I followed online instructions for VZN-based service when I actually had a TMO-based SIM from them).

I have had limited interactions with InfiMobile customer service, which I guess is positive as it means things have worked okay. But when I did chat with them about the APN mixup I just mentioned, it was fine.

Anyway, point is that InfiMobile has worked fine for me, so much so that I have just moved over two important lines from Red Pocket because of the fiasco there. Not saying that my experience will be what everybody has (for example, it did not work well for you). But it seems to be working out well for many folks.

Anyone use hotspot? Add it after activation? 100% of high speed plan?
I believe you can add it at any time and it was 5GB hotspot for $5 a month ($60 a year!!)

if its T-Mobile sim you can add "DUN" to end APN Type on Android and it changes tethering data to mobile usage = Free Hotspot

Guess I'm a stupid person. I've been in IT for 35 years. I was modding devices on Palm Pilots, through Windows Mobile, to Android devices.I also generally have switched phone providers every 6 months for the past 5-7 years so I think I know how to port a number and also how different each provider is in terms of their class of service and customer facing issues.Infimobile was crap for me. They didn't offer me the option of T-Mobile vs. Verizon SIM when I ordered for them and when I brought up any issue to them I never got replies, or at least not any that were helpful. This is after months of repeatedly communicating with them and then simply not responding after they told me it was "escalated."
Sounds like you just got lazy and didn't try multiple methods of contact. I will admin their contact page via the website sucks (not very responsive) but via Helpdesk chat you can get in touch with them real time.
What I've found is most of the time if you order a physical sim from their website, you'll get a Verizon physical sim. If you activate via the website on eSim you'll most likely get T-Mobile. You can switch between the two for a one time fee of $5.
Again I'm not saying they're visible... but for what it is and the price they aren't bad. If you port your number over and aren't constantly changing things or dinking around with stuff it just seems to work. The more involved you get the less happy you'll be.

The order page gives the option to select which network. Pay be you clicked on those without paying attention?

Okay, that'll help in making plan comparisons.

60 days from date of purchase.
I searched their T&C and couldn't find it.

- 45 days for refund, $10 restocking fee
- 60 days to dispute taxes, fees
- 3 years for deactivating unused sim

SIM Kit Inactivity
- **Automatic Inactivation**: SIM kits that are subject to the 45-day refund exclusion and that are not subsequently activated will automatically become inactive three (3) years following the date of purchase.

I ordered via Amazon. They did not provide an option.
I talked to them in "real time" on many, many occasions via their chat.
They "escalated" my cases and said I would be contacted, but never contacted me.
If I would contact them via the chat again it was the same routine.
Not once in all my issue with my dropped calls did they ever suggest that I switch to T-Mobile network. It wasn't until after about 3-4 months with them that I even knew they had the option since again, they didn't offer the alternative when ordering and they never brought it up.
By that point, they had not gotten back to me for about 2 months already, so I was just going to ride out their craptastic service and switch away, which I have done.

I think maybe initially InfiMobile was only VZN--at least that seemed to be the idea mid last year. But they definitely do also have TMO service nowadays. Maybe they did not have the possibility of offering TMO service back when you are having issues?

No, they did. I just didn't know about it because they don't/didn't advertise it on their site unless you actually were ordering the SIM, and didn't provide the options through their Amazon sales. I only found out about it because someone here or on Reddit mentioned it. Despite that, the company themselves never bothered to even mention to me after weeks and weeks of dropped calls that perhaps I switch to the other carrier? But of course they didn't because they barely even tried to resolve those issues, or the issues of my VVM constantly stopping to work.

I'm not an idiot when it comes to vetting phone service, nor am I here to blast them for no reason for things that are out of their control (i.e. they didn't have TMO service at the time). I know what I am talking about and what the situation was. Maybe some people had a good experience, but I am sharing mine, which was not. Over the past 6 months while I have shared my experiences I have had many people also express how much of a PIA their service also was. I would say I have had about 35-45% of people say "no issue here", but at least half of those also claim the service was "for their parents" or "their girlfriend", etc, and therefore I take those with a grain of salt as they aren't first hand.

Anyway, do what you want, and if you decide to go for a company with such a low satisfaction rate I hope you get lucky and don't have issue. I suspect if you live in an area where the service has 0 issue, or maybe stay away from their Verizon, and have no need to actually get anything resolved should it go wrong, you may not have the worst experience. The good news is they are dirt cheap, so if and when you decide you made a mistake, you won't be out more than $100 or so.

Well, sorry to hear that they have not worked out for you. I've only had to call them (InfiMobile) a few times, but honestly, I can say that they seemed quite effective and competent and knew what they were doing. I had this same general feeling with Red Pocket, too. But before either of them, I was using TracFone, and gosh, that was an exercise in frustration because the first level of CS there was not trained/able to more than just read off a script. I am hoping InfiMobile continues to work well for me, but we'll see where we are in a year.

They sent me a SIM that wouldn't activate. Took about a day of back and forth to get things fixed and now everything seems to be working as expected.
