No. Eneloop in the US is only from Japan.

This 10 pack AAA eneloop seems to be a new SKU and all of the reviews written this year seem to confirm they're still made in Japan so I'm going to take a gamble.

Edit: Received mine and they're indeed made in Japan.

Ikea comes out to $1.87 each vs. $1.94 on this deal (or less with S&S). But Ikea's is only 750mah vs. this at 850mah.

But great for us that live 10 minutes from one. Microcenter is 5 minutes.

I used to live in Irvine, I miss those days. Now I'm super far from a Micro Center, but I still have an IKEA.

Can anyone recommend a dependable charger with auto shut off features and individual battery readings?

A good analogy is minivans and trucks. As production volume fell, they raised prices to compensate. As production volume has started to recover, prices have started to get under control (yah the devaluation of the dollar makes it more complicated). If the Japanese batteries can complete with China batteries they will go for the opportunity to increase volume sales which increases profit and in turn the chance to reduce prices which again grows volume. but right now with Chinas tax advantages it's hard for other countries to complete. Those tax advantages are being reduced by the current admin, a trend which likely will continue under the next admin.
That's if there is a shortage.

There is no shortage of eneloops.

Which is great, if you're near one of these so-called "IKEAS".

I looked them up, and the nearest one is over 3.5 hours away. I'm not traveling SEVEN HOURS + fuel + dealing with nonsense in-store just to save seven cents per battery.
Diehard slickdealer you are not. No soup for you! LOL

Unfortunately those review videos by PF were back when a lot of the highly rated competitors like the Amazon basics were actually made in Japan, but nowadays the eneloops are still made in Japan but the competitors or at least many of them are now made in China like the Amazon basics for example

For the AA batteries, the Ikea ones are a little bigger in diameter so they do not fit in some toys, etc. They work in an xbox controller fine, but some other things I have I have found the Panasonic batteries fit better. I have both and they both work fine. I have not tried the Ikea AAA batteries, but I use these in phones, remotes, etc.

This is what I've experienced with the Ikea Ladda AAs too and they annoy the hell outta me. They never seem to fit properly in a lot of my kid's toys, which is what I use a lot of the rechargeables for. If I force it in and make it fit, its a pain to get them out later.

So they will lower the price because there's less competition. Got it.

Can confirm this problem with certain brands of AA rechargeables (IKEA, Amazon, etc)

example - my microsoft wireless keyboard requires you to slide the batteries into the tray. The thickness of Amazon batteries doesn't allow them to be installed. Eneloops are fine though.
