I have a lot of hours in this game and this is an amazing deal. Just keep in mind it is a punishing multiplayer experience until you learn the mechanics of the game. It is not a COD style shooter where you just beeline for objectives, it is team based and communication driven. The worst matches you'll play involve the teams that aren't communicating with each other and just want to play COD. Also if you run into an open field you are dead.

I played this for the first time on the PS5 when they offered it for free a couple years+ ago, and couldn't wait to try it out on the PC. I finally purchased it for the PC a few months ago and have enjoyed every minute of it. An AMAZING free game — although it caters to a specific audience (with the hardcore/realism and punishing multiplayer) but it's definitely worth a try if you're into serious/sim shooters.

That was my first game too. After a couple games, I actually enjoyed it. I was playing with a group of four friends and we were basically all new and confused players.

Usually there is a truck that someone can drive to transport troops closer to the battlefield and your group leader is suppose to drop a spawn point closer to the battlefield. We did not know that at the time and literally ran all the way every death haha

Played five games so far and found it fun. Still don't know everything about the game so I'd probably have to look at some YouTube gameplay. If you don't want to give up on the game yet, I'd recommend using YouTube to teach you the basics and more

I finally played last night with 2 friends, and we drove a tank around. Commander, Driver, Gunner. There is a big learning curve, but once we got the hang of it, it was a blast. There is nothing quite like the thrill of a combined arms push between infantry, armor and artillery.

This is not a COD shooter. If you play it like that, you'll have a bad time. In your first few matches, join an infantry squad, use your mic, and follow your squad leader's orders. You'll accomplish mush more, and "get it," and start having fun.

If you've played ARMA or Squad, this should be easy to pick up.

Great game. Join a squad with SL that has a mic and is communicating, and your experience will be great.
Don't fire up the game with inexperienced buddies and start your own squad, it won't go very good

Even though I already own this game on Steam, I picked it up again in case I want to start as a level 1 player again. I bought HLL two years ago and I'm slightly ashamed to say I have almost 900 hours on it. It's an incredible game. It's a perfect match of skill and strategy and relatively easy to learn.
