You could also just get a current users guest pass and get 60 days free. You can choose App or App+ for those 60 days. If anyone wants that instead, DM me and I'll send you my guest pass link.

The subscription is definitely worth it. You don't need a bike from peloton, I use a regular stationary and a wahoo cadence.

If you don't workout, start with 5 minutes a day and figure out better eating habits. you'll see results that easily compound.

We have an Echelon Connect, it's an indoor stationary bike.

If you're referring to the resistant level, there's a knob on the echelon (similar to the peloton, but the numbers are different, we use a conversion chart) that adjusts the resistant level manually.

The cadence and calorie tracking will not be available on the peloton app if you use an echelon. Schwinn IC4 might be more applicable if someone is looking for that.
Hint: qdomyos-zwift
I'm using it with Echelon Connect. Auto-resistant adjustment and you can view all parameters (including calorie and cadence and resistant level) on the app. Peloton student membership is cheap.

The guide membership is different from this? The one that works with their camera device

Been members for years and use practically every category of classes. We have a Schwinn IC4 bike and Horizon 7.0AT treadmill that both have bluetooth sync capabilities with Peloton, but it's really not needed to follow along with the classes. Full price is worth it afterwards considering the benefits if you keep up with your personal fitness goals.
I have an IC4 but found the app reports the speed is lower than what I'm actually doing. I just choose to not sync it and all is fine. Is your matching well?

For anyone on the fence, as suggested, get a 60 day trial from any active Peloton member. Will give you either App+ or the basic membership. Use a dummy account if you don't care about streaks, stats.

Only downside, if you have actual Peloton hardware, $44 for the all access membership is the only way to go, and there is no trial for that.

Which membership used to be 50 bucks? I swear that's what it cost when I used my bike. Did they change it? Also are there any hidden charges?

I have never exercised. I absolutely hate exercising. Peloton is the only way I have been able to follow a routine so for me it's well worth the money.

If you had the actual, legitimate Peleton bike, then you paid $44/month. It's actually more expensive if you have their hardware because idk why, aside from they can and you bought into the ecosystem.

The app membership was always cheaper because they didn't guarantee all the original functionality that they would with their hardware, but you still got 90% of the experience, for significantly less.

Then they increased the price and paywalled features so you had no choice but to pay more, or deal with 3 classes a month, and loss of metrics.

The subscription pricing is garbage, there are lots of users in between the two offered tiers. 3 cardio classes a month too little and unlimited for double the price. Figure out a new pricing structure if you want to grow your user base

Does the + membership actually work on the bike? My wife impulse bought one years ago but the membership was ridiculously priced so we never renewed and now have a stupidly expensive exercise bike with a tablet attached that we can't use. I've tried side loading apps via adb to at least watch Netflix while she uses it but no dice.

Update: I can't read. This is for the app only so unless I'm misinterpreting this does not work on their stupid bike and it remains a dead tablet attached to an overpriced bike, awesome.

Their app only price used to be $10 and included unlimited everything. Then they doubled it to $20+ and limited the bike classes for the lower (original) tier. Lame.

Deal is great but it doesn't worth it afterward. I would say apple fitness would be a better deal than peloton with non-peloton bikes.

Great deal for the App+ if you use a 3rd party bike. I have the Bike+ that I got used on FB Marketplace for $600. For the $44 a month, it's worth it for me. Gym memberships at like the cheapo places like Planet Fitness, etc. are lower, but the convenience of doing it at home. Youtube workouts are great too, if you can motivate yourself to do them. I cannot, so I can get myself to do it when I actually invest some money. Long term health benefits make it worth the cost. Can't beat the production value, music, and community aspect of Peloton though.

If you have a friend with Peloton, or anyone on SD, they can share with you a guest pass for 60 day trial of App+.
Can't you just share the $44 a month pass and split the cost?

This is a great deal, but it definitely requires commitment. If someone treats it like a New Year's resolution, working out for just a month before giving up, they won't see the true value. Peloton's programs are designed to deliver results and keep you engaged, but the key is sticking with it.
