If you don't workout, start with 5 minutes a day and figure out better eating habits. you'll see results that easily compound.

If you're referring to the resistant level, there's a knob on the echelon (similar to the peloton, but the numbers are different, we use a conversion chart) that adjusts the resistant level manually.
The cadence and calorie tracking will not be available on the peloton app if you use an echelon. Schwinn IC4 might be more applicable if someone is looking for that.
I'm using it with Echelon Connect. Auto-resistant adjustment and you can view all parameters (including calorie and cadence and resistant level) on the app. Peloton student membership is cheap.

Only downside, if you have actual Peloton hardware, $44 for the all access membership is the only way to go, and there is no trial for that.

The app membership was always cheaper because they didn't guarantee all the original functionality that they would with their hardware, but you still got 90% of the experience, for significantly less.
Then they increased the price and paywalled features so you had no choice but to pay more, or deal with 3 classes a month, and loss of metrics.
Update: I can't read. This is for the app only so unless I'm misinterpreting this does not work on their stupid bike and it remains a dead tablet attached to an overpriced bike, awesome.
If you have a friend with Peloton, or anyone on SD, they can share with you a guest pass for 60 day trial of App+.
