So tech problems someone else mentioned put aside for a memont, The first edition Kindle Scribe was a great piece of hardware For someone who just wants a top of the end Kindle.
But for somebody looking for a robust digital note taker / annotator / etc, I highly highly recommend looking at the Scribe's competitors as well.
Kindle - Great for reading but just okay at note taking.
Remarkable supports epub and PDF, you'll need to remove the DRM & convert your Kindle books with an app like Calibre.

I was introduced to paper tablet who raved about his Remarkable. I highly recommend doing some soul searching while doing your research. If you want a robust paper tablet, there are far better options out there. If you want one that doubles as a reader where you can take notes and integrates with your existing kindle library, this is not a bad option. One of my favorite features is the ability to email pdfs to myself, sign them, and send them back to the requestor - thus eliminating the need to print, sign, scan, send. I've been satisfied. That said, I look forward to the updates that will mimic Gen 2.

Kindle software is hardly maintained by Amazon. There are still clumsy design patterns & bugs more than a decade after it's launch.
Amazon knows the kindle reader is a high margin status & luxury item for avid readers. The e-ink screen is compelling for that specific application. But as a general note taking and content creation device, I recommend buying an iPad.
I realize it might not be for everyone, but it works well for me. Also have an iPad Air M1 to complement this device.

Interesting. Would you mind sharing what you do? Owning an Oasis, I'm not sure if I can justify getting this
