I've had my eye on this for a few weeks now but I'm hesitant since it's being sold by a third party seller (QuickDealStore [amazon.com]) and it only comes with a 1 year warranty [seagate.com]. (Seagate is pretty vague about the warranty IMO and it's hard to find solid info online. The best I can gather is that the warranty is only for 1 year in the USA and 2 years in Europe)

Despite my reservations and bad longevity/reliability history with Seagate I would buy this in an instant if it was being sold directly by Amazon; really could use the space presently...

I have 2 WD shucked drives in a NAS, trying to get more space for it in additional bays. Any obvious issues with shucking these Seagate drives and adding them to my existing setup?

I was told WD is much better than Seagate. Is it still true?

This is being sold by a third party seller. In some of their reviews they are accused of selling resealed hard drives. Buyer beware.

Reviews for this seller are good, other than a some reports about dead drives but that is to be expected when buying a HDD from anywhere. I only see one review about it being a "resealed" drive and no other reviews talking about it.

There are a lot of resealed comments. I'm worried but canceled my order

Delete thread please, immediately before naive people buy this.

Third party 50% chance you'll get a used/bad drive.

Also if there's ever a failure seagate won't honor warranty from an unauthorized seller!

yes WD Elements is more reliable than Seagate drives. WD Easystore is a BestBuy brand same as Elements. WB MyBook is not recommended.

I changed to Ship from Amazon although it's the same seller, not sure if that's better but delivery date is pending.

Over the last two months, 45% of Amazon reviews for this seller have been 2-stars or lower. Very poor!
