I've used the Jackery Explorer 300 Portable Power Station for a number of years. It's a great tool to have for car camping and very useful powering small things in a power outage situation.

This is old lithium-ion battery technology, which around 400 cycles. The lifepo4 lithium battery is much better around 3000 cycles + before drop to 80% between charge. This is portable and can use as back up for router + modem for about 5-6hrs. If don't mind the look and have lifepo4 charger, the battery + inverter would be better choice. I just upgrade to 150ah lifep04 battery with 1500w inverter ($168 + $65) and can keep the router + modem going for 45 hrs. Again, I already own the Noco Genius10 so use that as charging option.

Search Eco Worthy 150ah on this site and add deal Alert for next round. I got substitute with metal case. It sold out couple days ago. The BYGD 1500 watts silver case pure sine with 4 outlet, 1- USBC, and 1 USBA that I bought on Amazon also sold out. I have a chance to test them out yesterday and seem able to run 650 watts microwave or small Tornado heater fine. Please stay away BYGD 1500W red case (bad reviews).

This is the BYGD that I bought from Amazon for $64.99. The link for reference only.

Not quite, and I will elaborate.
The cycle count estimate is based on a charge/discharge rate of 1C (the battery being depleted in 1 hr, and charged in 1 hr).

It is possible to discharge at that rate with a 300W inverter, but in most use applications you aren't doing that every cycle count. Also it will never charge at at rate of 1C. It will charge at about 0.2C. As such the life cycle rating until 80% is much much higher than 500 cycles. In real world usage, you will probably see more like 1500 cycles until battery degrades down to 80% capacity. In summary, the life cycle count scare of lithium ion power stations is completely overblown .

Yes, lithium ion phosphate cells will last much longer. But honestly, the BMS or inverter or charger controller will fail well well before the battery becomes an issue

I wouldn't trust what manufacture state. A lot of battery will deplete way before number of cycle claim. I remember my first LED light bulb died couple months light use rather than 10 yrs claim.

I guarantee you that your power station will fail even before your battery degrades to 80% capacity no matter which chemistry you go with. The batteries in these things are not the problem, no matter if it's Lithium NMC or Lithium Phosphate. It's ALWAYS something else that breaks. The main culprits:

BMS
Inverter
Charger Controller
Bricked from firmware

Due to the explanation I provided above, battery cycle counts provided by power station companies are actually extremely conservative, not inflated.

Your story about your first LED light bulb is due to heat killing the bulb. Early LEDs (ie those big CREE ones) were notorious for overheating and frying themselves. Today's cheapo LEDs suffer the same problem. The more expensive LED bulbs today (ie not Great Value nor brown-box contractor packs) have adequate heat sinks to disippate the heat even when used in an enclosed light fixture.
