The MILWAUKEE M18 REDLITHIUM XC5.0 Starter Kit delivers up to 2.5X more runtime, 20% more power and 2X more recharges than standard lithium-ion batteries. The lithium-ion battery pack features superior pack construction, electronics, and performance providing users more work per charge and more work over pack life than any battery on the market. The rechargeable battery also delivers users with 5.0 amp-hours of runtime. Each battery pack is durably built for heavy-duty use, runs cooler, and performs in climates below 0°F/-18°C. This protection routes water away from the electronics and out of the battery pack, extends the users' battery run-time and life by minimizing heat, and prevents pack failures from vibration or drops. Built-in REDLINK Intelligence protects the battery from overloads, while the discharge protection prevents cell damage. An integrated temperature management system and individual cell monitoring help to maximize battery life. The MILWAUKEE M18 FUEL 1/2" Mid-Torque Impact Wrench w/ Friction Ring delivers the best power to weight ratio, most access in tight spaces, and faster removal speed. It provides 650 ft-lbs of nut-busting torque and only weighs 5.1 lbs, making it extremely versatile, capable of performing a wide variety of applications. Its POWERSTATE Brushless Motor generates the power needed to quickly perform many tasks, such as removing large bolts or lug nuts.

This impact has become accurately referred to as "king ugga dugga" by me and everyone I've loaned it out to. While it is a "mid torque", I have not come across a single fastener it would not quickly loosen, including staked and threadlocked 1.75" driveline pinion nuts that wouldn't budge with 6 foot breaker bars and heat. It works quickly and efficiently but also balances size and power and will fit into most places you need to break out some power. On the "loosen" setting it's great for removing lugnuts without risking galling the threads the way it slows down speed once the fastener breaks loose. I also have an M12 3/8" compact impact that rarely gets used as this one does it all.
If you are looking for one impact for automotive use, this is the one to get.

Dewalt is never a better tool than Milwaulkee. Never. Milwaukee is top of the line.
DeWalt's current mid torque DCF891b has higher torque than this Milwaukee M18 Gen 2 mid torque.... They are mostly direct competitors trading blows in the impact wrench space.
Depending on what you need it for. The DeWalt is their low torque model, but is more compact than this Milwaukee. It will take about 1-2 sec of impacting with the DeWalt to take a lug nut torqued to 100 ft-lb off.
Anyone know if this comes packaged with the tool and battery separate? I bought the tool-only version recently for about this price. Was considering returning the new tool under that previous order to basically self price adjust for a free battery out of the situation. Would that work? Or is the packaging / SKU different?

I was planning to leave this tool in the back of my truck for when I have to take off lug nuts for a flat or something. Emergency tire/flat kit

I got the Dewalt DCF892B on sale last month on Amazon $189 bare tool & it has 600 ft lbs fasten & 800 ft lbs break away.
This Milwaukee looks like the better deal, since you get a charger & battery. Only get the Dewalt if you already have batteries & need the extra nut busting power.
As a side note, does anyody name their tools? My Dewalt is Wolverine & the Milwaukee is Deadpool.

Homey Depot gives you 90 days, so just return that beast & buy this deal, since its 1 day sale.

DeWalt has better table/miter saws, sanders, and drills/drivers. Milwaukee has better automotive, electrician, plumbing, 12V, and storage.
Fanboying is just silly

No. Look at the torque specs. It list the torque as 3600 inch pounds. When converted to foot pounds is only 300 ft lbs. Weaksauce.
