I purchased 2 when they were $99, and although locked for 1 year they've been working flawlessly for several months now on Tello using MKSD Ultra V5.6

For those having trouble porting in from TracFone, Straight Talk, or Total Wireless, here are the steps you need to take at the porting part. This is based on my experience. I have successfully completed port-ins from these sites after working out this guide. The guide below is taken from Total Wireless port into Metro. It should be the same for Straight Talk and other TracFone subsidiaries including TracFone.

Port Info Needed:
Most can be found here
https://www.totalwireless.com .. my-account.. manage-lines
Line: Phone number
Account: Phone IMEI (Text Four to 611611 to confirm)
Zip code: Your zip code
PIN: Text NTP to 611611 to generate your PIN.

----------------------
At the Porting part.
1. Enter the port info.
2. Metro contacts Total Wireless. (See picture 1)
3. Metro throws an error even if you entered everything correctly. (See picture 2)
4. The error is because Total Wireless is contacting the line owner to warn them about the port. (See picture 3)
5. Click on Correct errors.
6. Re-enter everything again and make sure everything is correct.
7. Metro throws another error. The same one as seen in Picture 2.
8. This is a bug on Metro site.
9. Click on the X at the top right to close that error message.
10. Metro proceeds to completing the order.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Once you clicked on submitting the order to Metro, your Total/ST/Tracfone line is immediately inactivated on their respective site, not allowing you to port that line any further even if Metro denied your order asking you to contact them or go to their store for completing the order. In order words, you cannot reverse the porting at Total/ST/Tracfone. I spent 2 hours with Total and it was going nowhere.

Price has been reduced to $50.

For the people who tried google voice, does something change when you actually unlock the number? Because when I enter both of my google voice numbers now it says I'm eligible for the discount but my mint mobile number removes the discount as expected.

Also as a heads up I called my local metro and they had the iphone 14 for $99 on the same deal.

I was hoping to get some advice or confirmation about this deal. I currently have an AT&T phone and was planning to move over to T-Mobile eventually. The most important thing to me is to keep my current number. So would it work if I just got this deal "in between" the switch? So basically I would:
  1. Get this deal with the iPhone 13 by porting my AT&T number to Metro Flex
  2. Use the Metro Flex service for just one month
  3. After the one month, cancel the Metro service by porting the number to T-Mobile (which is where I want to end up with the original phone number)
So basically, I would just take advantage of my AT&T number to come up with a iPhone 13 that I can use after 12 months unlocking period.
Would this work? (Keeping in mind that I don't want to lose my original number.)

Thanks in advance!

I miss those days Metro-by-Tmobile required only 6 months to unlock... For one year, it's really a long wait.
So Metro now currently forces buyers to wait a whole year to unlock the device instead of 6 months like before? 🙄🤷🏽 ♂️

so, you used on Tello after they got unlocked after 1yr or used on Tello before 1 yr unlock. also, what is MKSD Ultra?

Yes that will work. You are able to request your Metro port out details anytime in the MyMetro app once your service is active.

Is it dead? "Add to cart" is greyed out even after port-in number approved.

Perhaps, same here.

The port out went through but the order was not completed. It asked to visit the store or call the free number.

Edit:

Now it says;
Unfortunately, this number can't be transferred. Try another number or choose a new number to continue.

It's a new VISIBLE number that I created and activated an hour ago.

If an order is not completed, Metro blocks the number temporarily from 4-8 hours.

You can change the visible number from chat bot and try with the new number.

You can enter your Google voice and Metro site will say it's eligible to port in. But when you add the iPhone to the cart, it only discount to $479.99, not $49.99. You need an AT&T or Verizon number to get the phone for $49.99. Get a Visible number (Verizon networt) with a referral for $5 to port in.

Metro purchase function is deactivated from 12:00AM to 1:00AM PST (3-4AM EST). Don't try to order during that hour.

They no longer list iP13 but its probably similar regions
Exactly. Why bring it to a market that doesn't have the slot only to retrain you guys to fix it. Easier and cheaper not to.

Note that there are exceptions. Multiple people report that their Moto Edge purchased after the policy change unlocked after 6 months.

I have the cheaper VIP plan on metro. If I let the Flex plan expire during the first month, can I replace my current phone on the Flex plan with this one? Will I still have to pay the $50 if done within 6 months?
