I purchased 2 when they were $99, and although locked for 1 year they've been working flawlessly for several months now on Tello using MKSD Ultra V5.6

For those having trouble porting in from TracFone, Straight Talk, or Total Wireless, here are the steps you need to take at the porting part. This is based on my experience. I have successfully completed port-ins from these sites after working out this guide. The guide below is taken from Total Wireless port into Metro. It should be the same for Straight Talk and other TracFone subsidiaries including TracFone.

Port Info Needed:
Most can be found here
https://www.totalwireless.com .. my-account.. manage-lines
Line: Phone number
Account: Phone IMEI (Text Four to 611611 to confirm)
Zip code: Your zip code
PIN: Text NTP to 611611 to generate your PIN.

----------------------
At the Porting part.
1. Enter the port info.
2. Metro contacts Total Wireless. (See picture 1)
3. Metro throws an error even if you entered everything correctly. (See picture 2)
4. The error is because Total Wireless is contacting the line owner to warn them about the port. (See picture 3)
5. Click on Correct errors.
6. Re-enter everything again and make sure everything is correct.
7. Metro throws another error. The same one as seen in Picture 2.
8. This is a bug on Metro site.
9. Click on the X at the top right to close that error message.
10. Metro proceeds to completing the order.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Once you clicked on submitting the order to Metro, your Total/ST/Tracfone line is immediately inactivated on their respective site, not allowing you to port that line any further even if Metro denied your order asking you to contact them or go to their store for completing the order. In order words, you cannot reverse the porting at Total/ST/Tracfone. I spent 2 hours with Total and it was going nowhere.

You can't use this phone on Tmobile, this phone is locked to Metro for 1 year.
if you want to give this phone to a Metro user, you need to move your service to another metro phone, or if you don't need the line, call metro and cancel the line
So i can cancel on day 1 and give the phone to another metro user ? Do i have to open the phone in order to cancel ?

This is prepared, just don't pay second month and it will automatically cancel it.

Switching from Straight Talk is a nightmare. Metro often ports your number and then won't let you finish the order. Straight Talk customer service refuses to help because, in their system, the number has been ported to Metro. The number continues to work on Straight Talk because the porting never really happens. Metro says it's still pending and tells you to contact Straight Talk. I've gone in circles so many times I just gave up. Some online forums and Reddit discussions suggest using Straight Talk's corporate ZIP code 33127 when filling out the Metro transfer information, but that didn't work for me either. It's like a never-ending bad dream.
I agree. I went through the same situation in the past.

Im trying to figure out how quickly I can give this phone to another metro user without having to activate the phone or unwrapping the phone.

If you don't want to open the phone then you have to finish online activation from order status page (this will complete the port and start service) then wait 60 days for your Metro account to be deleted for non-payment -- after that the phone's IMEI will be freed up to use on any Metro line

Option A & B you need access to the phone -- Option C you can wait it out 60 days after online activation:

You cannot if this is a standalone line. You have to activate the line, open the box, login to your account after receiving the security code from your new phone/line. Then swap the line to another phone, so that your new phone won't associate with any line before using in other Metro line.

If you have multiple lines in your account, you can activate it,swap the phone by logging in using other line in the same account. You don't have to open the box.

I don't have pre-existing Metro account so I have a standalone line for this I guess. I just got the phone and activated it on the order status page without unwrapping the box. However, I am unable to log in to the account to disable auto-pay because logging in requires an authentication code sent via text. In your experience, is there any other way to turn off auto pay without having to open the box and turn on the phone just to get the text? Thank you!

Autopay is off by default while ordering, why would you turn it on? Now you have to open the phone to receive the txt message to get into the account.

Yes it's still alive, I just placed another order, maybe the # you're transferring is not eligible for discount.

Anyone tried an esim from another carrier or vice versa on a physical sim card, kind of silly for a phone to have 2 ways to get service while only allowing 1
