I think the various Metro iPhone deals should be merged because a lot of the questions are being asked in the different threads and they're mostly relevant to all of them.

iPhone 12, 64gb, "Free" with port in and plan of $75 = $75

iPhone 13, 128gb, $49.99 with port in and plan of $75 = $125

iPhone 14, 128gb, $99.99 with port in and plan of $75 = $175

If you have a Visible line you can use a referral to get $20 off the $25 plan = $5 for the line and then you can port that into Metro.

Additional lines on Metro are $35 so add that to the cost of the phone above for the cost of additional lines. So additional iPhone 12 would be $35.

Various experiences on the success of adding lines to your Metro account, though. Some go through hell just trying to add one. Others can add three or four more.

Unlock does supposedly take a year now, and I don't think anyone can confirm yet that it will actually unlock if you get the plan/phone for the first month and then let your plan/account just die (because you don't set up auto-bill to renew after the first month unless you really want to) - but I don't think there's any reason to suspect it won't unlock.

That's the crux of it. Again, there are already a few posts existing, especially for the iPhone 12 deal, so your questions have been likely already been answered if you want to search those threads.

I'd just get the iPhone 13 for $125 (similar deal from Metro as well). The phones are nearly identical, with the same processor.

Trade in values are also very similar, with Apple offering $50 more for this (and it costing $50 more)

When we bought this deal, the policy/details on Metro's website stated 180 days to wait for unlock. We paid for 1 month service and cancelled the plan and stored the device for 6 months. But when we tried to unlock using an ATT eSIM on iphone 14, the device showed eSIM not supported and still stayed SIM locked to Metro. Our 180 days completed 2 days ago. Anyone any luck on unlocking?

180 days have passed. No Auto Unlock, eSIM rejected. Will update post if anything changes but it's looking like it'll be the full year for unlock for phones purchased when this deal was first announced.

Update:
Contacted Metro customer support on call and they told the device will be eligible for unlocking on August 12th (Not sure how they are calculating 180 days but the CR told it will be eligible for unlock on or after 12th August next month). Will check next month.

if you check your apple warranty coverage in settings what date does it show? That should be the same day you first activated the phone. Should be around February 13 for an August 12 unlock date.

You are right, it shows February 10 as Warranty coverage but that's weird as I activated it on Jan 10th. Anyway, I will give it another try next month. Will provide an update here on how it goes.

Don't hold your breath. Although Metro didn't really enforce the new 365 unlock policy months after the initial announcement, iPhone's purchased after sometime in October/November have been subject to the new unlock policy. I have several 13's from December. None of them has unlocked.
