Why would you thumb down a deal that clearly says YMMV? Such behavior discourages others from posting items that may be available for some and not for others. Unless of course, you feel $1,999 isn't a good price for a $5,499 item, for those that can find it.

Bought 5 of them for my business all 5 broken with 6 months and no repair shop local that works on them which a waste of money I ended up buying Toro z turn replacements that have good customer service

It's slick cause of the price compared to what it normally sells for, not because of how it compares in your mind to another product

Well this kind of pisses me off. Been holding out for one of these for years. I have all these alerts configured for mowers. I check Slickdeals like 10 times a day. And this appears on my page 2 days after it was originally posted and now it's sold out at all 3 locations around me? Real bummer
I hear you I've been looking at these for years and decided this will be my first riding mower and it happens to be electric. I bought it yesterday after work drove straight to Lowes and it took some time but the guys found two in the back.

Neighbor has Ryobi electric like this. Year 2 battery capacity has reduced dramatically. Can barely get one whole cut done

Edit - meanwhile my gas zero turn is 10 years old and I will probably have forever with regular maintenance and homeowner use

Just got one in the Charlotte (Belmont) area. They have a few more in the back with free assembly and delivery.
How did you go about getting it? Did they have them on display? Did you ask at the front desk? I'm planning on going to the Belmont Lowe's shortly.

Super skeptical about the battery life reviews. I think these are great ideas but seems like the tech hasn't fully caught up to the idea yet. This is at least the third time I've seen bottom out clearance deals of electric zero turns on SD.

With that being said and I was in the market for a mower, I'd take the gamble on this vs paying 1200-1600 for a gasser.

Just got 1 thank you guys for bringing this up!

What's the best way to haul these home? My local store won't deliver it. Any car rental company with low deck and ramp? I don't want to deal with trailers. TIA

Do you know if he has the lead acid batteries or lithium ones. Lead acid are def not as long lasting. That's what I have had for the past couple years, got the 500 deal that HD cleared out so totally worth it even if it needs new batteries in the future

How long do the batteries last ? As much as I hate the noisy, polluting gas mowers, they last forever.

Please explain the economic logic of this machine to me. I use a Honda gas mower that I paid about $400 9 years ago. It has given me flawless performance that I expect to continue for at least another 10 years. I am also heavily invested in EGO lawn tools (four) including my favorite (edger), blower, hedger, and trimmer (the worst). I own three (3) batteries. Unfortunately, the first battery is now dead at 4 years of intermittent use.

So, economically, I could purchase (if I needed one) a new Honda mower for about $600 OR I could purchase this machine for $2,000. The 10Ah batteries that come with this unit run about $400+ each. When the batteries start dying in 4+ years the costs will be even higher. Assuming (perhaps incorrectly) that the batteries all fail at about the same time, and (again) assuming that the mower is still useable at that time, the cost to replace all four batteries will be about $1,700 ... assuming that prices do not rise.

So, to summarize ... $2,000 for upfront costs PLUS an additional $1,700 every 4-5 years. The total cost of ownership of this mower will be $2,000 + $1,700 (year 5 replacement + $1,700 (year 10 replacement for a total of approximately $5,400 vice $600 for a new Honda mower plus new spark plugs and oil changes (incidentals).

Any feedback is appreciated, even negative ones. Based upon my (somewhat limited) four-year experience with EGO lawn tools, this "deal" makes no economic sense to me. I have a lot of money tied up in my current EGo tools and am getting ready to start replacing batteries at great expense. I just don't see it ...
If I could buy a zucchini, why would I buy a bowling ball? Pretty much a similar comparison. You are comparing a Honda push mower to a zero turn riding mower.

Work at Lowes Sold many many Riding mowers etc over the years ......Ego products are very very nice BUT this is not worth it imop when u can buy a Toro Z-Turn for $600 more and have for 20yrs with Simple in home maintenance etc YES its Gas im aware and NOT the simple electric motor style item BUT the batteries are just not worth the aggravation you WILL eventually have. There's a reason these don't sell at Regular prices BUT they finally move at clearance $$$
Same size 42Inch machine https://www.lowes.com/pd/Toro-Tim...5014873481
Again YES this is a sweet deal $$$$ wise BUT many other options factors to consider Just my .02 worth of info

While cool there is nothing slick about these. In five years half of these will be at the dump. Even a basic gas rider will last two decades if stored indoors and maintained (oil and belt changes). And before you say I'm an electric hater I'm on my third electric car and have a bunch of cordless yard tools.
I absolutely love my ego yard tools but I'm still not sold on an entire electric riding mower. I'm also worried about what happens in 5 years when the warranty goes out. My parents have had multiple gas mowers last 20+ years and my current mower is a decade old. I'm not sure if the same will be said for electric. I mean yes the batteries can be replaced but at what cost the same cost as a new mower?

Having had both, if the price was the same, I'd prob buy gas. You just never see gas ones with the discounts these electric ones have at times. Gas is easier to fix and maintain when things go wrong and are less of a throw away like electric. But gas is louder, smells, requires a good bit of maintenance and additional costs associated. The deck alone uses multiple pulleys and belts that go bad. Electric deck is direct drive, motor attached to each blade. Much less to go wrong, but when it does, harder to replace. I feel like they both have their place and it depends on need and price point
I'm desperate to replace my 20 year old gas rider, and very much want to go electric. My push mower is Ego. But I user a number of tow behind accessories, and my gut is telling me I'd destroy this Ego pulling things behind it, especially an aerator.
