Why would you thumb down a deal that clearly says YMMV? Such behavior discourages others from posting items that may be available for some and not for others. Unless of course, you feel $1,999 isn't a good price for a $5,499 item, for those that can find it.

Bought 5 of them for my business all 5 broken with 6 months and no repair shop local that works on them which a waste of money I ended up buying Toro z turn replacements that have good customer service

It's slick cause of the price compared to what it normally sells for, not because of how it compares in your mind to another product

Most people keep their mowers outside, so what does it matter.
Most people keep their mowers in the garage. The display units I have seen at lowes are sun faded and had compartments full of rain water, not exactly what you want in an electric mower. They look used and left out in the weather for 5 years. Go in person and buy.

Work at Lowes Sold many many Riding mowers etc over the years ......Ego products are very very nice BUT this is not worth it imop when u can buy a Toro Z-Turn for $600 more and have for 20yrs with Simple in home maintenance etc YES its Gas im aware and NOT the simple electric motor style item BUT the batteries are just not worth the aggravation you WILL eventually have. There's a reason these don't sell at Regular prices BUT they finally move at clearance $$$
Same size 42Inch machine https://www.lowes.com/pd/Toro-Tim...5014873481
Again YES this is a sweet deal $$$$ wise BUT many other options factors to consider Just my .02 worth of info
that is 1000 more on my screen.

Why is everyone worried about the batteries? if they suck at year #2 or #3 or #4 or #5 they get replaced.. I'd think this was a positive - and at year 4.5 I'd be measuring them to see if I could get them replaced under warranty.. I wonder how much gas and oil a mower of the same size but gas uses in 5 years.

I have almost 3 acres of grass and use about 7, 5 gallon gas cans worth a year at about $3 a gallon (I'll say $4 to be generous that's $140 a year) a tune up kit cost me $30 and another $10 for oil and filter. I won't count blades and such as that's typically for both gas and electric. So going by those numbers thats $180 a year x 5 years is $900~ one single 10 amp battery if you were to replace out of warranty is $500 and your only ahead $400 if your lucky enough to only have 1 go out if you have two your already behind. also I guarantee you that this mower can't get through 3 acres of grass on a charge and then if something goes wrong I can't just fix it myself you're going to have to take it to someone and that's even more cost. Like I said I have ego products for the rest of my lawn and would never go back to a gas string trimmer but it just doesn't work for large yards which is typically the use case for a zero turn.

I absolutely love my ego yard tools but I'm still not sold on an entire electric riding mower. I'm also worried about what happens in 5 years when the warranty goes out. My parents have had multiple gas mowers last 20+ years and my current mower is a decade old. I'm not sure if the same will be said for electric. I mean yes the batteries can be replaced but at what cost the same cost as a new mower?
When the batteries go bad, you still have value in the mower. Sell it to someone who already has ego batteries and find another mower deal, gas or electric, depending on ur experience

Good luck getting them replaced under warranty… I'm guessing about 50 bucks in gas a year to operate a ride on gas mower for a typical 1 acre property…

Oh crap my bad it auto added my 10% employee discount......SORRY ......I would maybe wait till spring sales pop up again for the gas zero turn Also newer JD riding mowers have a tight turning radius NOT Zero Turn BUT then again a snow plow is a very nice add on.

I'm seeing $1000 more for the Toro you linked: $1999 for the Ego, $2999 for the Toro.
Edit: never mind, you posted a correction while I was posting my question above.

man they have one hiding in the back covered in snow... 7 in crates but bought by folks online and they are waiting to be picked up. I finally realized not having a shed or a garage and already keeping my ego walk behind inside my house a zero turn would just have to sit outside, maybe under a tarp, but vulnerable to theft. I guess I'll pass even though I own a bunch of ego stuff I need a shed to keep the stuff I already have! Bummer with a big ole yard.
