Why would you thumb down a deal that clearly says YMMV? Such behavior discourages others from posting items that may be available for some and not for others. Unless of course, you feel $1,999 isn't a good price for a $5,499 item, for those that can find it.

Bought 5 of them for my business all 5 broken with 6 months and no repair shop local that works on them which a waste of money I ended up buying Toro z turn replacements that have good customer service

It's slick cause of the price compared to what it normally sells for, not because of how it compares in your mind to another product

Has anyone actually purchased this, attempted to register the product, and gotten confirmation of the registration based on the Lowe's receipt? Seems like that would imply that the warranty would apply if so.

I think registering is fine. Just that when you need to use the warranty and they verify the proof of purchase, that is when they will deny it from what it seems like. And still no official word from EGO. Just many are getting rejected for warranty

If you got this deal please make sure to call to register the product. Tell them you got it at a deep discpunt, let them know your purchase price. Then when they mention they don't cover warranties for products with more than a 30% discount ask them where it says that in writing... then mention the website for warranty registration fine print only mentions the liability won't exceed the purchase price and according to their policies you should still be offered a warranty covering up to the 2k you paid for it.

Just got off the phone with them after dealing with this over an hour+ and speaking with a few people and lots of hold time.

What did they agree to in the end?

In the past, part of my registration of an ego product was the inclusion of the receipt. Once confirmed and registered, I've never had them go back and re-confirm the validity of my purchase. Have you had a different experience?

The registration process went fine, getting them to warranty the battery on the other hand is where the problems started.

Hey Creepster, you sure do ask a lot of questions. I'm on the fence as to whether I want to keep it. It weighs over 400 lbs. it's not like I can pop i in my back seat and return it to Lowes.

did you buy one?
Yes I did. Waiting for delivery. From my previous thread, I had the manager verify all basic functions and batteries first. He has the same common sense logic to not want to waste time with delivery and return. Buying the lowes 3yr protection plan. Thats enough mitigation for me to not worry too much about this ego warranty. If I paid full price for it, then thats another story.

What did they end up doing?

I just got off the phone with them and they pulled the same thing. I kept asking where is it says anything about not covering items with more than a 30% discount and she could not show me.

I think it's affirmative by now they're no warranty and ego will do everything to deny it. It's now either return or pray for luck or didn't break down the road

Thank you OP. Found the last piece in CT, a display piece. Paid and they are delivering to home. Mine is having one key only. Any idea if this vehicle comes with 2 keys or 1 key ?
Did you pick one up from Derby? If so, when I asked them about that unit, they mentioned no battries.

Did you escalate it to a supervisor? In my dealings with them, the frontline people were beyond useless. Maybe a third of the supervisors were good, but if you get the right one, they can actually either do something or tell you something intelligent. I think we all collectively need to push for a supervisor who is denying the warranty on the basis of price to send something in writing that directly contradicts the terms of their written warranty policy. If for nothing else, posting a copy of that statement far and wide will garner bad publicity/negative feelings toward the brand. It's kind of sad that it is necessary as I do very much enjoy the Ego tools that I have. If only their customer service and app were half as good as their hardware.
