Why would you thumb down a deal that clearly says YMMV? Such behavior discourages others from posting items that may be available for some and not for others. Unless of course, you feel $1,999 isn't a good price for a $5,499 item, for those that can find it.

Bought 5 of them for my business all 5 broken with 6 months and no repair shop local that works on them which a waste of money I ended up buying Toro z turn replacements that have good customer service

It's slick cause of the price compared to what it normally sells for, not because of how it compares in your mind to another product

If you press the button to power on the mower, the lcd will light up. However, you need to press and hold the button down a few moments for the mower to be operational.
I found the issue....was using (2)7.5ah movings and blade options not activate....after adding (2)10ah it works...

Lowe's just delivered mine. Four batteries brand new in box, charger brand new in box. Zero hours on the display. I decided to load up my snowblower 5ah batteries instead of unboxing the 10ah. Discovered that a minimum of 15ah is needed after finally seeing the sticker in the battery bay. It had me stumped for a few minutes trying to figure out why thing would power up but not move with two batteries. Drove it through the snow, around the corner and down the alley to get it into the garage for the rest of the season. Located in Indiana.
Something here....was using (2)5ah...everything on but no moving or blades working

Off the Lowe's truck, I inserted 2 x 5ah batteries (10ah total). Discovered the ZTR needs 15ah to operate. Added 1 x 5ah, for a total of 3 batteries (15ah total) to drive it to the garage. I did not attempt to engage the blade as there is still about 5" of snow on the ground here.

Good to know....sound like you can do odd number batteries as long 15ah or over to function normal...

Except on sale items. Lowe's stopped allowing military discount on sale items years ago.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Lowes/s/pURlE8IJiE

From Lowes: "The 10% Military Discount can be used every day on most full-priced product purchases. Exclusions to the Military Discount Program include the following: (i) It cannot be used on any sale item or with any other discount (such as but not limited to Lowe's Price Promise, Lowe's Credit 5% Off Every Day discount, volume."
https://www.lowes.com/l/about/honor-our-military
They absolutely still include military discounts on clearance and sales items.

You got lucky, some type of browser anomaly perhaps or in store hookup (misapplied or not).

Per Lowes:

The Military Discount can only be applied to eligible purchases. It applies to most full-price products.

It can't be used on any sale item or with any other discount (such as, but not limited to, Lowest Price Guarantee, Lowe's Credit 5% Off Every Day discount, volume or special pricing programs, and manager discretion price adjustments). It can't be applied to major appliances (including related accessories and parts), commodities (such as, but not limited to, electrical cable, electrical wire, dimensional lumber, plywood and OSB), gift cards, previous purchases, fees, installations (sold separately or as part of a bundle comprising both product and services) or any other services (such as, but not limited to, rentals, labor, delivery, shipping, extended protection plans).

Additional exclusions may apply. See store for details.

Do you know if he has the lead acid batteries or lithium ones. Lead acid are def not as long lasting. That's what I have had for the past couple years, got the 500 deal that HD cleared out so totally worth it even if it needs new batteries in the future
My son has a Ryobi electric 0 turn. After a couple years, it needs a second charge to finish the job. It, however, has lead acid batteries.

lol, incorrect. The battery warranty is 3 years and if you register them within 90 days of buying the mower, they extend it 2 more years.

So 5.

lol people trying real hard to shit on this deal. That's usually how you know it's a solid deal LMAO
How is stating a warranty term shitting on this deal? I've purchased this, is that considered shitting on this deal?

Have you registered and verified that you have 5 years of warranty on the batteries?

Yes most likely as the 12ah batteries are not part of the package for that mower.

My 2004 Snapper is still going strong. I change the oil about every 2 years at a total cost of maybe $20. Battery twice at around $40. So $280 in 20 years versus $2,000 to replace four of these batteries, that may last 10 years, probably not?
Ummm, there isn't a SINGLE shop that will tell you that you can change the oil and spark plugs ONCE EVERY TWO years.
https://www.familyhandyman.com/ar...awn-mower/
Every 100 hrs. or at LEAST once a season, which for many, is more than once a year. While I'm sure there are people out there who will have there lawn mower's last 40 yrs without an oil change, I assure you most, by a large amt, change it every year at the least. I had a cub cadet (until a few days ago) for 12 yrs and the lawn batteries are crap, on and so forth. Changing out the blades, forgot about that one. The EGO blades are easy to swap out. Either way, batteries, oil, spark plugs, air filters, all add up bit admittedly not 2K but it doesn't means the batteries only last 5 yrs and thats at full price. I would say the less work, being smart about battery purchases and there's not much difference. Did I add already owning batteries from the blower and weed whacker?

Mine is all charged up and ready to go, but I can't get it to move, nor does it find any new firmware.

I can start the blade, but it won't move forwards or backwards, brake is disengaged.

Any idea what's going on? The manual isn't very helpful (or I'm dumb and can't read). There is zero chance it's already updated since the sticker says manufactured in 2021 and the 4 batteries and mower all have 0 hrs, and they were in a sealed box.

Lord help me if this thing is a dud. I'll have to rent a truck again to exchange it (actually, that's likely not an option). Hope Ego's support doesn't shun me because I didn't pay over $6,300 for the thing (after taxes).

Or am I probably missing a step?

1. insert the key
2. press start/stop for ~1 second.
3. the display is showing the battery % (100) and bluetooth connects to my phone. I do see a little key in a circle, too.
4. the app never shows any way to check for firmware updates, nor does it ever find anything.
5. hold the power button to fully power up.
6. the blade spins, no problem.
7. moving the arms to the "center" then forward or backward, the mower doesn't do anything at all. It will not move.
8. please don't say it's defective, please tell me how dumb I am for missing a simple step.....
