  • Note: A Steam account is required to activate/purchase and play (free to join).
Thanks to Deal Hunter doublehelixx for sharing this deal.

About this game:
  • Garry's Mod is a physics sandbox. There aren't any predefined aims or goals. We give you the tools and leave you to play.
  • You spawn objects and weld them together to create your own contraptions - whether that's a car, a rocket, a catapult or something that doesn't have a name yet - that's up to you. You can do it offline, or join the thousands of players who play online each day.
  • If you're not too great at construction - don't worry! You can place a variety of characters in silly positions. But if you want to do more, we have the means.

Do people still play this? I remember getting burnt out on it like 20 years ago, before it even came to steam as a standalone. I'm sure there's like an infinite amount of content now but at the same time, I remember it felt like the game mechanics would only allow for so much...

Bro, I posted a brand new 4080 laptop from Costco last summer for $1699. It basically got buried and no one saw it. Since then refurbs have hit FP for that price and more lol. It should have been an insta-FP, especially back then.

I'm not surprised people still mess around with this, but I am surprised it's not just free at this point.

Sometimes things are seasonal or cyclical. Sometimes they're unpredictable.

I suspect that downloadable content is more popular shortly after people get new computers.

I'm sure there are a whole lot of new Steam accounts established over the winter break.

If you haven't played since it was just a mod then you missed a few of its most massive updates including the embedded workshop. I played since v3 mod, through v10 (steam release, $10 back then) and a few years after that. Definitely give it another go if you have an interest.

They done you wrong.

Garbage Star Wars figures at the everyday-Ollie's-discount price of $5 hit the front page despite...a pronounced dearth of interest. Meanwhile, stuff like that laptop gets buried (great price for a 4080 machine at the time).

Just doesn't seem entirely organic.

Meanwhile - and no, I haven't exactly tracked it like some great cat of the Serengeti - it seems $5 is the standard Steam Sale price, so if you're in the market for GMOD it's about as good as you'll get.
