After activated, the 60-day unlock countdown begins and it should unlock automatically after 60 days pass. After the first month you do not have to pay for 2nd month if you do not want to keep their service. It will still unlock after 60 days.

I don't need a plan, bring my own number? Does that mean the phone is UNLOCKED? (uhm, it has to be locked when they sell their phones)
