Yeah, I was really hoping for something more than a faithful remake. Like, after you beat the end game bosses at level 50 then you get to go to a couple new zones where the level cap is 70 and it adds to the story.
The game is missing a lot of quality of life improvements of more modern RPGs and the Mario RPG series continued with the paper mario series.

It's pretty easy with very little grinding. There are a few optional challenges that are difficult, but the main game is not IMO

I loved the original as a kid and this is a very faithful remaster/remake but it's VERY easy. I'd recommend playing on hard if you've ever played a JRPG before. $30 is an OK price, it's pretty short (~12 hours) and it's almost a 1:1 remake of the original so it's more of a remaster even that they completely remade the game. I doubt many people will play much past the end credits since there isn't much depth to the combat.

Still a fun and enjoyable game overall but the MSRP is too high.

This a fun, charming and easy RPG but it definitely feels like an old game in terms of mechanics and visuals. I played through it once then sold it right after.
