If you consider the previous deal price of $22.49 for H&R Block, this is just $2.50 off the $20 GC (or 12.5%). Not bad but not amazing.
The TWO State issue w/H&R Block can be got around BUT you must install it on TWO different computers. Once you install a particular State on one computer, it's somehow locked in on that state. Uninstalling, editing the Registry to remove instances of H&R Block, etc...have not worked in the past.

So, either you install the software on a 2nd computer (with a particular State version on each one), or you download and install a Virtual Machine (VM) (ex. VMWare - Free home version) and install a 2nd H&R Block version in a VM).

I'm sure some more tech savey people will come in and chime in...
HOLD THE LINE. STAND FIRM, EVERYONE.

Here is my past history from NewEgg, for Deluxe + State:
2022: $24.99 + $15GC = net $9.99, purchased 2/17/22
2023: $24.99 + $10GC = net $14.99, purchased 3/3/23
2024: $27.99 + $20GC = net $7.99, purchased 1/5/24
This deal: $39.99 + $20GC = net $19.99

Getting better...what do we think gentleman, continue to hold our ground for that $16-18 range right?

(I can't do my taxes until the end of February for when most items are ready anyway so waiting isn't a problem)

I mean it's kinda meh...I usually buy eset yearly from NE, but still meh. I don't want to hand $20 raincheck to NE. I am probably going to forget to use it.

Yes, HOLD the Line!!!

Do NOT BUY Yet - NewEgg is hoping they can sell at these higher prices...we need to drive the price lower.

But Rep the OP for their efforts!

Hoping for $18.

But once I've got all my W2, mortgage interest, etc. and I'm ready to go, I'll jump on for the first $20 I see (maybe even $22.50 if I'm feeling antsy).

Some mostly free options to try first..

The free services may charge for state filing. Worthwhile to check them out if they meet your needs over the pay ones. Some will use your info to sell you other products & services (Cash app for example) -- this is accurate despite folks repeatedly removing it cause it doesnt fit their narrative.

IRS Direct File https://www.irs.gov/filing/irs-di...e-for-free Limited to 25 States in 2024. Opens on 01/27/2025

https://www.freetaxusa.com/ Fed is free most states are $15 to e-file, no 1099-b import.
