How do these work? Do I get a code that I enter at the end of doing my taxes? If I am doing 2 states would the code just deduct the price of federal+state and I pay the 1 state?

Last year for two states after getting deluxe+ state I was price gouged into upgrading to get additional state in software purchase option. Had to pay extra huge amount dwarfing the original, I think $39 for second state!!! Which version of any tax software has two states from the get go?

Hoping someone has a better solution?

same...I'm a 2 state filer and I cringe at the extra $20 they ask to add 1 more state. And that's for paper filing!

I'll wait until a deal on Amazon. I still won't deal with Newegg after their previous issues.

What issues? Contrary to my experience. So curious

The TWO State issue w/H&R Block can be got around BUT you must install it on TWO different computers. Once you install a particular State on one computer, it's somehow locked in on that state. Uninstalling, editing the Registry to remove instances of H&R Block, etc...have not worked in the past.

So, either you install the software on a 2nd computer (with a particular State version on each one), or you download and install a Virtual Machine (VM) (ex. VMWare - Free home version) and install a 2nd H&R Block version in a VM).

I'm sure some more tech savey people will come in and chime in...

I've waited on this deal to come in the $15-$18 range for years. I tried freetaxusa.com, and honestly, it does basically everything deluxe does for free.

Tempted to grab this. I've got stuff I need from Lowes.

Anxious about doing my taxes early to ensure I get the EV credit. Trump seems a little trigger happy with the pen already.

I must be getting lax, a 10-15% spread that amounts to less than I tip for Dinner at a Diner doesn't matter to me.
Now 10-15% difference when buying a car, a house, central A/C system... That makes a difference to me.
BTW... How much per hour do you make? Does *spending* the TIME (minutes) to remember to check on next lowest price come near $2.50 or $3.00? Or would that time & energy be better spent at the gym, movies, s@x, conversation, work??

I guess I'm a wimp. I need some stuff from Lowes,so I went ahead and pulled the trigger. I'm getting antsy to get started on my return. I know lots of people have had issues with NE. So far, I have been lucky with them. Hope the streak keeps up.

I can see that some of you are starting to break. Don't fall into temptation and seek help from a friend if you have to. We're not falling for their $20 gimmick
