So if you are planning to get S25U you can do a gamble for $25 or so by opening an account now (use referral code for $60 credit) and see if you are able to order by the end of the preorder period. Note that even after the preorder period ends FI will still have a discount albeit $50 less o it might still end up being a good discount.

yep, me too.
It doesn't work because we both have a referral countdown active.
I tried doing the following too, and no dice:
  • I went through with the purchase, even though it was showing full price on my account, and then cancelled. It did not show at $750 discount.
  • I added a new person to the account, and purchased the phone under them. Then promptly canceled. Even here, 24 hours later, it does not show the $750 discount.
I think the only way to find out if it works is to temporarily suspend your service - this should cause the new user referral to fall off (this will be the referral that you used to sign up), and wait a bit to see if it comes through - may take an hour, or 24 hours for it to fall off.

Another user claims he has both, but he has not been able to share a screenshot that shows an active referral countdown + an active device credit countdown... So as far as I'm aware, no one has been able to get it working while waiting for their referral credit, unfortunately... Frown

I got below response from the Fi support. I was not able to understand why I am not eligible. I have asked them to clarify who is an eligible customer. Will wait for response for few more hours before I test the cancel trick.

Received S25 ultra few hours ago. So far

1. It is considerably lighter than S24U.
2. The battery drain was 6 percent less compared to S24U when I was setting it up via smart switch using a cable. Not scientific but efficiency definitely seems to be better.

So what would happen if you sold the phone to someone else and they put either a Google fi sim in it or fi esim, within the 120 days?

Seems the count down isn't going on mine. It's the next day after I activated and still shows 120. Does it go by the actual time of activation? That would be this late afternoon.

As I have the s25 ultra now, my account is not showing any other existing user orders. Someone else who is on FI but have not done the preorder needs to check. I am guessing it's $600 off?
