I have the same phone, Moto G Play and was planning to trade it in. Did u do it in store or online?
Did an online order but didn't get a trade in label after more than a day.
They should. I've traded in locked phones in the past and it's never been an issue. That wasn't with Spectrum though.

Trade-In Value ($15.00) + Spectrum Promotion ($700.00)
The trade-in value and additional promotion credit will be processed after your device is received and verified. If the final trade-in value exceeds the cost of the new device, the difference will be credited to your account.
I'll try for an S25+ in store once they are available.
I already use Spectrum mobile for my main line, so I can activate the S25+ on that for 2 months and then unlock.
Are you located in NY? Do you remember if you got taxed for the full value of the new phone or just the difference of the new phone minus the trade in?
I have an S21 on Tmobile, and an old flip phone on Tracfone. I already have Spectrum internet.
I'd like to trade the flip phone for the S25, get the $700 credit, move the Tracfone phone number over to Spectrum, but then use the S25 on Tmobile (with the Tmobile phone number) while putting the S21 on Spectrum (with the formerly Tracfone phone number). I should get Spectrum mobile free for a year, so then after a year, cancel Spectrum account with S21.
Does this sound feasible or will I run into issues?
The Spectrum website says that there's a $50 restocking fee and the item can't be returned in store, but I was wondering if others have had different experiences or if they make exceptions for preorders.
Edit: I was trying to ask Spectrum support for info and got this response. They say that if you purchase in store, you don't get the credit at the time of purchase but will have to wait at least 30 days while it gets processed. I realize some support staff will give wrong information, so take it with a grain of salt. (Attached screen capture)
