I got tracfone on Amazon should I activate it on an eligible line to trade in or can I just trade in the new phone as it is?

Just came back from spectrum, had a free line I upgraded from to s25. Traded an A14 for $713 total credits against 799+tax. Good part is, online it was $53 extra taxes and a $800 hanging charge but through in store taxes were only $9 and process was instant. So got it for $93 out the door. Just waiting on the unlock now.

Anyone know how long unlock takes when you fully pay it off in store?

60 days after activation, make sure phone is connected to spectrum network and chat with them to unlock. Will happen over the air

As has been mentioned numerous times, you do not need to activate. Just get it to the homescreen.

Went to spectrum store on Saturday 2/15/25. The rep said it was OOS. She told me to order it online or she can order it for me then it will be shipped to me. I was like i wanted a new line too but i don't want to go through online process. She was like since you want to add a line, i can check the back for you. She came back and said yes they have few in stock. So i traded an iphone 6sp and paid about 105 including tax. Went back to the same rep today 2/17/25 and said im back because the phone is to small and i wanted to upgrade. She was like there is a $50 re stocking fee and i have to pay $200 plus. I was like im not returning, im just trading in my s25 for s25p. She was like you have to wait $30 days for that. I was like the s25 is paid off and customer service over the phone told me i can do that. She was like ok there will be difference. I was like sure, even though ik there is no difference. I went from s25 to s25+. I just checked the trade in price for s25p for ultra. Looks like they only giving $1180. Ultra cost 1299. Ill just stick with s25+

Anyone try trading in a locked phone via the online trade in and was successful?

I know it doesn't matter for in store but first time trying online.

How long did it take everyone to get their credits for their mail in phone? Did anyone trade in a new s25 for a higher model, before receiving their bulk credit from the initial trade in?

so you paid restocking fee +200ish? these instore reps probably don't make any commissions on upgrades so they are probably giving you hard time, same thing happened for me and I already tried 2 stores near my area so i'll just stick with s25s

Same here. They issued the refund (surplus trade-in credit) of $122.33 to my credit card. However, the estimated bill for next month went up by $122.33. I called customer service - they weren't sure why the system is doing that. They advised me to call them if I still see the charge on next month bill (once it gets generated).

No, the restocking fee was if i wanted to return the s25. I told them i wanted to trade towards the s25+. That way it's a free upgrade
