Another update: I was finally able to trade in my S25 for the S25+. But what a nightmare! All you guys read my experience yesterday, so I was a bit reluctant to try again but I was in too deep to stop now (wife thought I was crazy to go to all this trouble for a cell phone, but that's me

). Headed out this afternoon and went back to one of the stores I went to yesterday, got a different rep. and told her I wanted to trade in my S25 for the Plus. She says, "sure, no problem" (go figure, all others had lied to me). Buttttt... it wasn't to be so simple for me, you know!Everything went very smoothly until she asked for ID and SSN - three days ago I bought the S25 with no issue at all with both pieces of information, but today? Nope, their system wouldn't verify ID today for some unknown reason, which stopped the transaction dead in its tracks. She tried everything - multiple times and it just refused to go through. I starting thinking that maybe she was pulling my leg, but at the same time, she was so friendly it didn't seem so, she was genuinely trying to make the transaction work (and she'd already gone and gotten the S25+ from the back room and had it sitting there on the counter). She even suggested a return to make the deal work (not trade-in) and told me I'd have to pay something like $265 to upgrade to the Plus. I said "no thanks" to that, obviously. Anyway, after many tries to verify ID, she basically just gave up and said I'd have to call Spectrum Mobile customer service back east to see if they could figure out what was going wrong. Meanwhile, I could see my new Plus slipping away, so close but so far...I stayed there in the store and called them, spent easily an hour on the phone only to reach someone that finally said there was no problem seen on their end, the ID verified right away for them - but that doesn't help me in store, it has to go through their system in the store and there was nothing this phone agent could do to assist further. She suggested the store agent reboot her computer and clear cookies (strange thing to ask, but why not try?). I told the agent to do that and although I couldn't see the screen, I guess she did that. Several more tries later and still it wouldn't go through. By now, I'd been in the store for a full 2 1/2 hours! I was ready to give up and just forget it, but somehow it just suddenly confirmed my ID and went through. I couldn't hardly believe it, after so long and so many tries but it worked! In the end, after taxes, I wound up with a $0.51 credit on my bill. I think it was $1,088 trade in credit for the S25, and I think someone earlier in the thread said they lowered the TIV by $25 since a couple of days ago. This was the hardest won Slickdeal ever for me! I don't know if I'd do it again with no certainty of success but I'm happy it's over (for now, I'll probably trade in the S25+ next year for the Ultra). Thanks to everyone that replied to my post and for the moral support, I needed it

I wish i could get it to work in-store, as it would save me time and anxiety, etc. etc. I've tried several times at two different stores, all fraud blocked. I even called the 'fraud department' that chat gave me the number to, nothing they could find. My wife is pissed i've wasted so much time in stores, but what can you do. My last attempt was this afternoon and multiple agents at the store said they've had quite a few cases of fraud when doing what i was trying, and it's due to selecting the pay in full option in store. One agent said online is no problem, since you have to front all that $$ before you get the new phone.
I caved and ordered online and paid in full a s25, just not crazy about the waiting for credit of $710 part from my moto edge 2022. From what i've read in the earlier comments i'm hoping the credit will post to my account soon, then i can chat and have them refund the full amount back to my card. I really want to bag a s25 ultra but having to front >$800 then >$999 then >$1300 for a total of $3099 plus taxes is just too much for me.
If i get the credit back to my account and can put that back on my card before the promo ends, then i might consider jumping straight from s25 to the ultra, given the fact i paid next to nothing(just taxes) on my initial trade in device--moto edge 2022 that i got free from T-Mob.
My pitiful timeline - ordered s25 on 2/16, order confirmed and shipped 2/17, email received with QR code for shipping with UPS on 2/17; dropped off the phone at UPS on 2/18; s25 arrived 2/19; package delivered to Lewisville, TX today 2/21.

Finally got my S25 in store 76012 at road to six flags using the QVC moto play 23.not doing a S25+ upgrade, but just so anyone in the area knows they have S25's in stock now.
I forgot to mention - it was an existing line. $799.99 minus $10 for moto play '23 and minus $700 credit.
Taxes were $7.42 + $89.99 = $97.41 I read other states had tax on full purchase price, but for me it was just on the remaining price.

Anyone mailed in the trade-in phone (Moto G Play 2023 from QVC) for S25 successfully? Did you do a factory reset when sending it in? Did you include a SIM card? I noticed that the Moto G Play 2023 from QVC required a SIM card in the SIM slot in order for it to continue the setup process after doing factory reset, otherwise it is stuck at the "Start" screen or first screen with the carrier lock message. I wonder if I can send in this phone with an expired SIM card and will they accept it? The reason I mentioned the SIM card is because after I do a factory reset and send it in without sim card, Assurant folks will not be able to get into the phone and then they can fail my trade-in phone with $0 credit. I have read many horrible complaints at Reddit about Assurant company handling the trade-in phones for Spectrum.

I handed UPS the Moto G Play 2024 I bought specifically for this deal in the box it came in - no other shipping box. Trade went smoothly.
Did you do a factory reset on it? Did you include any SIM card with it? If you didn't power on and sent it in since you bought it, then the phone did have a TracFone SIM card in there and it would pass the inspection.

I have been wondering the same thing too. I traded in a Moto G Play in-store before, but only after it was unlocked. Spectrum rep did ask me to factory reset the phone in order to complete the trade-in process.

For in-store trade-in, once the deal is approved by the agent, then the deal is done, but for the online trade-in, that is a Huge Risk if the Assurant employees are not happy with the trade-in phones, then you are stuck with at least $800 on the credit card.

Yeah, that is why we need to be careful with this!
BTW, have you done the trade-in multiple times on a single line. I got an S25 already (with pSim) by trading in a Moto G Play in store. If I do another trade in online to get a new S25, the new S25 will arrive with an eSim I believe. Now sure what will happen with the current S25 and its pSim. I want to get both of them unlocked after 60 days.

Do you remove the SIM when you send your phone to Assurant, or no?

Both times I traded in my phone, I just gave it to them with the SIM in it, in store.

For online ordering, your new S25 will not work until you activate it online with eSIM IMEI in your account or you can activate it automatically without online by moving the pSIM to the new S25 and you get a confirmed email about it too. For unlocked, some said just swap the SIM card from S25 to another S25 a couple of times, then when the 60 days come, swap to the one that you want to unlock and verify that it is in your account then call customer service to unlock.

Did you do this for online order or in-store order?

You mean the shipping box it came in, or that flimsy paper box the Moto comes in from the manufacturer?
Flimsy paper box it came in. Following drop off instructions it says you don't even need a box. You could just hand them the phone.
