You can get a brand new rp-1600sw for $900 if you wait for a sale. I don't know how low the PB4000 goes for brand new but it's significantly more... normal sale prices are $1800ish.
The larger the speaker usually the lower the frequency and more true the sound so that's why you want to go big, the goal isn't turn gain up to max that distorts and distracts the lows
"More true the sound"? So much science, I am overwhelmed.
I purchased the 12" also, my setup is in the basement and I'm not sure I could use anything bigger as I have to have it turned down to 6. If anything at all another 12" one would even put some dead spots but even in dead spots it still hits. I mean whole house shakes. How in the world does anybody use a 16". Yall know how to party lol
Klipsch says the 12" goes down to 17hz. It is probably all most anybody would need. If you're really going to push things, then the 1400 and 1600 give more headroom for more money. Worth it? Depends.
Yep, me too. Used my saving account bonuses to buy this. Wife doesn't know yet. Maybe should have purchased 2 to make a console to put the center channel on. Now there is an idea!
its massive. My neighbor thought it was an ottoman
Bought a sub and mains from Adorama and ups showed up with boxes just destroyed, luckily no damage except a gouge in the back. Didn't report it they work fine, but delivery is sketchy when you get into delicate 80lb delivery's. Cant get anything in store now a days and delivery has been getting worse and worse.
i've had this for over a year now and it really goes low while shaking the dust off of the whole house 😆 this sub along with the 8000f, 600mii, 504c is way over-kill for my now puny living space 🤪

Yep, I overdid it too for garage bonus room theater: 8000F II, 504C II, 502S II, 600M II, Polk RC80i for Atmos.

I was about to spend $1k on a SVS PB-2000 Pro until this came along, and I'm so glad Klipsch made their subs great again!
