Stiff flat sole. Sticky rubber to grip the pedals. For those who MTB and don't want to clip in. Freestyle, All Mountain, Dirt Jumper, BMX, etc

They're for use with flat pedals with pins. The pins grip into the stiff sole of these shoes. It's way easier to bail from your bike with this set up. These shoes are way easier to walk in compared biking shoes with the cleats attachment. They still suck walking in because they have a stiff sole like all good bicycle shoes should have.

I wish I needed these, have two pairs that have lasted me a couple of years with no sign of dying anytime soon.

Great shoes. Have 4 pairs that have all held up really well to dirt/ water/ scrapes and scuffs.

I sometimes use my freeriders as everyday shoes. Worn them on vacation and walked 15+ miles in a day with no discomfort.

Biking shoes without pedal cleat attachments? What's the point?

Yep they last forever. Mine look barely used after several years now. Good buy though

Is the sleuth as durable as freerider?

I have two pairs of these that I use exclusively for biking the past 2 years, and they have held up really well. They are well constructed and very comfortable ... plus stylish.

Save some money by purchasing adidas gift cards first, you can usually find them for about 20% off. Also, don't forget 8% cashback.

Thanks for this deal. I was able to pick up a pair of men's Trailcross XT for $48 shipped, very slick.

As far as going clipless, I get that many people see it as THE way to bike. But I volunteer at a local non profit bike shop, and the majority of our customers use flat pedals. As a commuter, I like being able to hop off my bike and go wherever I'm going without needing to change shoes.

I have Five Tens that I also wear for wet canyoneering. Great flat sticky soles to keep you from slipping on wet granite and other wet rocks. I also wear them mountain biking

No... buy the freerider for biking. I tried sleuth once and returned. The shoe is more stretchy... and I think adidas just tried to use the fiveten name to sell another pair of shoes.

Are you a road rider or don't bike at all?
